Doubt on CMS

Can you hear it..??
Hello DIGITians

Got one website for a publication house to be shaped up. I have no fair idea on the technology working behind but would like to know what exactly is the job of CMS and where it stops and what is the difference between Wordpress, Joomla and Drupal and how one wins over the other?

Looking forward to get some fair idea through this thread

CMS -> Helps you build large dynamic website without any coding knowledge.

WordPress, Drupal, Joomal-> Every one its own advantage and disadvantage.

I suggest you to give a try to WordPress and then Drupal.

Best way to test CMS is install a local server software liek WAMP, XAMPP and install these CMS locally.

^^ CMS require almost zero coding language...few clicks here and there and website it ready !
As said, it has its pros and cons..

Pros:
Easy management of file.
Automatic Post updates. (experience using Word Press)
Visually attractive themes.

Cons:
You have plugins for every single thing !
The themes you apply will be for the whole site (if u want a subdomain with a different theme, u cant have it) (my experience with Word Press)

Use XAMPP or Apache to make a home server and try them out..

Legend Never Ends
Been using Wordpress for a couple of months now and its actually very easy and convinient to use. No coding knowledge of any type needed. You can manage just about anything about your site with a few clicks

Do you really think plugins are cons!!!

You can have different theme for for different WordPress installation.
So, you can use different theme for main site and for sub-domain site.
