Deleted partition using ubuntu!

You need atleast 7GB for root. Home can be as much space as you want. Swap should ideally be equal to the size of your RAM.

So this should be fine -
Root = 7 GB
Home = 1 GB
Swap = 2 GB(equal to my ram)

Is Home specific partition to install apps?

and and and...1GB for Home is very less. 5GB recommended atleast. Give some respect or better not install at all. :|

Home is for storing documents, videos, downloads etc.

Looks like you have made up your mind. But anyway I would still want to aware you of the implications of your decision of keeping just 1 GB for your Home partition.

You wont be able to re-size the partition without re-formatting and re installing Linux.
Trust me, its with my experience, that I want to convey, that keeping 2 GB as unused space is better than getting short of 10 MB of space to store something when a need occurs!
So now its your call. And your decision. All the best.

@Mods: I think the purpose of this thread is served. And can now be closed, if the OP has no problem.
