Can't play my 1.6

I frequently play cs 1.6 online and 1 day i just recieved sum dialogue box saying i had to download sumthing for my 1.6 folder. I accepted and now wenever i open my client it shows the not responding dialog box and and thats it.I tried uninstalling but the same dialog box came up.My czero also has the same prob. After that i tried add/remov programs in cont.panel but i couldnt find cs 1.6,reinstalling doesnt help and later on if i try to acces the net through my browser then my connection is messed up to. In order for my browser to work i hav to reboot my computer again...
PLEASE HELP as im reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bored without being able to play 1.6.

Restore your Operating system back to the date when it was stable.
If you are looking for some cleanup then Try an antivirus and run boot-time scan.
Following this un-install the CS1.6 if it still exists and delete all leftover files.
Run any registry cleaner tool like CC-Cleaner.
NOw reboot and try re-installing the app.

Also try loading the windows with basic drivers and applictions only at startup.
goto RUn , type "MSCONFIG" , there you go for selective startup.
Make sure you disable all un-necessary services and programms from startup.
Reboot and see if this works.
