For gaming and coding, i5 2500K is more than enough. Here is my suggestion:-

Intel Core i5 2500K @ 11K
MSI Z68A GD55(B3) 9.8k
Gskill 1600 MHz 4GB X 1 F3-12800CL9S-4GBRL @ 1.6K
Seagate 7200.12 500 GB SATA HDD @ 1.9K
MSI HD 6950 2 GB Twin Frozr III/OC @ 15.8K
Corsair Gaming Series GS700 700 W @ 5.1K
Cooler Master Elite 430 With Transparent Side-panel @ 2.6K
LG 22X SATA DVD R/W @ 0.9K
BenQ G2220HD LCD @ 7K
Logitech MK200 @ 0.7K
Logitech Z313 @ 1.5k

Total 57.9K. Added a more powerful GPU and a high watage PSU for future upgrades.

nVidia Alternative as posted by you:

GTX560 Ti HAWK Edition or GTX 570. Both are within your budget.

Performance wise

GTX 560Ti < HD 6950 < GTX570

The reference models of GTX 570 has some VRM problems and in many cases the card have been burned. Only the custom VRM design models like MSI Lightning or Asus Direct CU II models are free from those issues and price is also very high, like 21K.

Thanks a ton folks! Can you suggest a better keyboard / mouse combo as well along with better monitor <10k (I'll extend a budget for these two).

Cheers!

Then get BenQ G2222HDL 22" LED Display @ 9K. It is a very good display. For Keyboard/Mouse Combo, get Razer Cyclosa gaming bundle @ 2.2K.

BMG ftw!!
My vote for BenQ G2222HDL. As it is very good monitor at ita price range (i.e. 9K). You can opt for it without any second thinking.

Hey folks, firstly thanks for all the help. I just need one more info from you guys - so I thought of bumping this thread.

Can you guys suggest alternatives for mobo -MSI Z68A GD55(B3)
and an alternative for 500 GB HD.

Please suggest an alternative that is cheaper then the one mentioned above.

Again, help appreciated ! :)

Sorry bro, can't help you here. In fact, you should have made the HDD purchase earlier. Currently due to flood in Thailand, the price of HDDs have been increased like hell, sortage in production.
Now 500 GB HDD will cost you around 4K, in fact, little more than that.

And MSI Z68A GD55(B3) is the best VFM Z68 board within 10K. There is no alternative available with the same features and performance offering.

Hey Cilus, thanks for all the help - first and foremost.

The thing is - The rig is being assembled and MSI Z68A isn't available. So I need an alternative - anything less than 15 would work now I guess..so please post relevant alternatives please. The configuration is the same as you previously suggested.

Cheers.
