Best Mobile HTC ONE X OR SONY XPERIA S

Hi Guys i am planning to buy a smartest phone and wondering which is best of these 2 models.

SONY XPERIA S
Pro's
12 MP CAMERA( fast shooting from Standby)
High pixel 342 ppi( Good for Brower usage and Ebook reading)
Neat Look and feel
Dual core 1.5 ( Sufficient for this year not sure for next year )
HDMI PORT
Lack of gorilla glass

Con's
Medium Screen
v2.1 ( very old technology as not even v3.0HS as opposed to v4.0 available)
Fixed Battery
Micro Sim
Very weak gpu 220( Not sufficient for future games or HD games)
NO SD CARD SLOT
Disappointing old 2.3 OS as opposed to Current V4.03 ICS


HTC ONE X

Pro's

Quad core( sufficient for HD gaming and HD video's plus muti task apps)
Good Sized Screen 4.7( Hope can be easily handled by one hand and good for movies , games and browsing as well remote desk app)
Bluetooth v4.0 support( equal to wifi capable file transfer but not usefull currently)
HD media link( excellent accessories which overrides lack of HDMI PORT for screen sharing and video sharing)
gorilla glass for long life scratch proof

Cons
Lack of battery capacity as provisioned is 1800MAH( Could be atleast 2000 Mah)
LCD 2 screen being recent upgradetechnology not good enough as opposed to current SUPER AMOLED PLUS HD SCREENS
lack of SD card support.
Lack of OS optimization


With so much of research now i am confused which is good enough to go.

As the price difference is 2k max
Sony Xperia - 32k
HtC ONE X -34K

Please guide me through this touch choice i had to make from.

HTC One X is superior in overall build quality, camera quality and performance as compared to Sony Xperia S...

Even though Xperia S has a 12 MP camera, but still HTC One X camera quality is better. Megapixel count isn't everything...

HTC and Sony's screens are comparable. Very good quality.

I Agree your point after all Camera is not only the plus as supposed 8 is sufficient to get most photos in good quality.

I was wondering does 5k extra worth investing i know price will come down the line. But not sure if dual core is right now a fact. but quad core is an overkill for the battery backup.

Why they had a fixed battery is that changeble. What if i run out of backup time over the period of time. Do they replace it or it not at all required for Li Po type of battery.

I dont understand that fact of fixed battery and low battery backup.

I love to have big screen but not sure if it fits in one hand for regular usage.

Wrong time to buy a flagship. Wait for 28nm Cortex A15 and Snapdragon Krait based smartphones. Buy in the second half of this year.

Plus, for some weird reason - MicroSIM pisses me off.

True i also agree not sure if micro sim is really bad. But apple users already using so wont be a big deal unless 5k difference worth investing.

I love to have big screen but .5 inch is that hard to handle in one hand as i have seen samsung galaxy s2 which is good enough for most of the operations.

I believe the .5 is extended breath wise to give us some more room to work out.

Apple iPhones have had non-user-replacable batteries since 2007... Also, the last two generations of iPhones use micro-sim, which is just a regular sim card with extra plastic cut out...

I agree with ico, it is better to wait a while. Samsung Galaxy SIII might be released in May... Price of this handset will drop to atleast 30k or less... Wait for it.

Or look for HTC One S, which has a 4.3" screen, same camera and dual core Snapdragon S4 Krait-based processors. Not exactly A15-based ARM, but better than Tegra 3 Quad core...

I am keeping an eye out for that phone... It has pentile qHD screen, but is really thin 7.9mm with Aluminium unibody design... A tradeoff most people would accept...

not to divert from discussion but if you want to buy a smartphone in that case you should get the Xperia S (just tried a dummy model of it at a shop today; build is of plastic but of high quality should be able to stand moderate-high strain on body).. rest of the specs you know it pretty well

But.......

if you really want to buy the smartest phone (in terms of specs/build quality/durability/camera/price ) then get yourself an LG O2X

Get HTC One X, its much better than Xperia S and also the price of Xperia S will decrease within just a couple of weeks

Once you design a multi-threaded multi-core app for Android, it does not matter if your phone has 2 cores or 4 cores or 16 cores... A Multicore app will use all necessary cores...

So Many of you all favor to HTC ONE X and very few for XS.

Now it time to dig further .

remember one thing though, Krait based X One will only be available in US (AT&T). The International one will pack tegra3.

Though One S packs dual core Krait.

Once you design a multi-threaded multi-core app for Android, it does not matter if your phone has 2 cores or 4 cores or 16 cores... A Multicore app will use all necessary cores...

Its not like that.
It will eat up pages if i would start something over multi core optimisation and multi threading systems.
In short You have a slight misconception about Multi-Core App.
There is none.
Apps or in general any piece of code(which constitutes to a whole program/software later) are optimized/designed to be scaled(work on) over fixed range of Processing cores(apparently a multi-core CPU) and are not just capable of scaling over any indefinite number of CPU core you can throw over it.

In nutshell not any multi core optimized app(dual.tri quad etc) can just automatically start crunching up any undefined number of cores.Mind It.

I believe 1.5ghz should be suffice for any decent app for down the line 2 years.Also this time frame is for the apps could run smoothly over the period of time. I also agree that quad core makes it faster. But we are moving with the device not a fixed one which runs on continous power so that we can compromise on power as it most important to consider.

HTC made a big mistake with sealing the battery. if they had given a chance to change any custom battery like they did over previous gen models. Atleast we would have had second thought.

Let see how the other manufactures comes with battery backup.
