and again we all have to repeat that the threadstarter just wants our help in deciding some particular phone available in his budget , he is certainly not interested in any of your personal likings . You are only praising sony and sabotaging every other brand by posting crap imformation about it . I am repeating again that i am not againts sony , and if nokia was really that bad then why is it the leading mobile selling brand in india .
Again +1 for n73 way better than w810 and slightly better then k790
w580 is allso good for the features it provides but better get n73 me , it is the best buy at this budget and also future proof .

You've disgraced nearly every Nokia phone that you've come across whether you've used them or not, while when it comes to SE, you're ready to sing its praises even when you haven't even touches the phone like in case of W960i or W890i. You sort of instinctively know that they are going to be fantastic right from the day they're launched and you're ready to recommend them to anyone who listens to you. While most Nokia phones are labelled crap as soon as they're launched. As I said, there's no sense talking to you. I might as well have a more meaningful conversation with a brick wall.

and wait...if u chk my posts..i have commented on the sleekness of the w890..its 10mm thick and has great features...and walkman sound quality..u dont need to use a phone to kno that...
for ur kind info..i have a posh group of firends..evruy other phone that comes out is in their hands in no time...i m sorry if u dont..but cant be helped...and if u dont believe me..nothing i can do....

Anyways, coming back to the topic, I have figured out that at least I am not going to buy a Nokia phone. And there is no "good" Motorola option in my budget. So, probably its going to be Sony Ericsson.
I was strongly thinking for W810i but it's a bit old now.
And then w580 is perhaps better than that.
Today I also saw k810i. Liked it. I'll try to increase my budget if it is "value for money" phone. What do u guys say ???
Any other suggestions are welcome.

You should buy k790 instead of k810 since there is not much difference between the two but again n73 me is the better phone and suits best for your budget, anyone who comments bad about n73 has surely never used it. If you want to stick to sony then k790 will do no need to put extra cash on k810 .

n73me ... no doubt about it .. used n73me as well as k790i and k750i .. now n73 cam is ofcourse better than k750i/w810i ..
between k790i and n73me..for daytime shots, n73 is better and k790i is better in nightshots because of xenon flash .. music playback of n73me is very good through headset ( read, creative ep630 as well as motorola s9 bluetooth headset) and through speakers as well ..
the thing with k750i /k790i is, u get bored with these phones very quickly .. just music and camera ..no third party software support ..hence i prefer n73me over k790i ..
and ofcouse symbian os .. n73me all the way .

i have it .. used it with n73me .. now using it with n82 .. works flawlessly ..but dont expect it to perform like ep630 ..it do sound pretty ok.and main usp is convenience ..no wires etc ..

at that time , i did not have s9 .. but i think k790i supports A2DP .. so it will work with k790i .. sound quality will be bit lower hpm 70 .. i will advise u to check it urself before buying .. i got it without bill for 2.2k .. now u can have it for maybe 1.7k or something without bill ..

And didn't I mention that k810 does not support a2dp
For 2.2k i think those are the fake ones , does they have volume buttons or keys for skipping tracks on them ? I got new s9 for 3.2k with bill and i am using it with n91 and they are loud enough and as good as ep-630 .

Ok I was in the same fix sometime back. But I decided and bought the Nokia 5610. According to me it was the best fone then and will be the best fone for me. I dun need or use the snazzy features some of u ppl might b depending upon. I will try to write down my conclusions for you, its upto you. Believe me I was looking at SE for a good fone but nothing in the 10-13k dept was worth.
I went to the shop for buying a SE but got this phone instead.
So here r my conclusions: -
Nokia
N73 = Symbian (Will get slow after some months of use)
5700 = No twisting parts for me.
5310 = Too flat for me.
6500 = Didn't come out was waiting for this one, thank god got the 5610
Sony Ericsson
W660i = No auto focus
W610i = Weird buttons
W580i = No auto focus (and my boss got this phone)
K810i = Weird buttons
K790i = Almost went for this one but backed out at the last moment, because of the cam shutter protruding out of the back of the phone.
Now its not that the 5610 is a kick ass fone but here are some of its features
EDGE, 3G (none of the sub 12k fones have this), 3.2Mpix cam with autofocus,
OS4 (No symbian
, Dual cam (Didn't know this even after buying the cam),
Cool display, Gives me 6 days of standby time (I dun get calls at all
), dedicated camera button + you dun need to open any shutter or the phone to click
Cons: - Crappy headphones, weird battery cover, doesn't charge through USB connector, has 512MB card bundled, 1 GB wud've been welcome.
Am not a fanboy of Nokia or SE am just helping a fellow member. Any bashings will be taken seriously (am kiddin)
