AVG 7.0 vs Norton Antivirus

How is the AVG AntiVirus 7.0 comparing to the Norton 2004. as AVG 7.0 is cheaper, AVG update it self much faster than NAV04 (AVG auto update takes only few second to update as nav04 takes 10-15 mins as I use RIL FWP), NAV04 slows down the system but AVG 7.0 don’t slow that much. But I can’t judge the protection as I dont face major virus threats every day. So waiting for your expert comments.

avg is definitely one of the best free AVs out there

One AV thats as quick as AVG is CA's eTrust EZ AV.It rocks but it is not a freeware.Norton is like a big slow elephant.
If u want a commercial AV go for eTrust EZ AV,and if u want a free AV go for AVG 7 Free edition.

Which is a Good antivirus Definatly relates to the fact what exactly you want from the Computer...
If you want serendity and peace with absolutly no Disturbance and Hunrgy Resources prying and fighting for that CPU and Ram time ...AVG 7 is the Best.. & moreever Specifically 7 not 6 because 6 did detect the virus but is not able to delete or repair those..
AVG 7 is the best of a Peaceful world.

NAV is still the better choice when compared to avg, but i would like to point out that kaspersky is also better, it had detected a threats which NAV, couldn't detect....

kaspersky is better.

Heres a thought:
I think we al tend to be anti-establishment at one point of time or the other wether it is :-
Microsoft vs linux
Norton vs kapersky
Pentium vs AMD
Govt vs opposition

I don't mean to say that the later companies are not doing a good job and beating the old established hands..........but aren't we a bit too harsh o them all the time....................i never heard anyone saying oh Norton is the best or pentium is the best,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i mean ive been using them ok glitches are there but then when more than 80% (just an assumption) of the world is using these who do you think the complaints are gonna pile up against.

Just give the above a thought:-
