audio not working -"no audio devices found " in control panel

My friend is having problem with audio ON HIS PC....
In CONTROL PANEL->SOUND AND AUDIO DEVICES->NO DEVICES FOUND

I formatted the pc , while installing realtek drivers the setup did not detect any audio devices..

I think its a harware issuse ..

any suggestions ??

This error is mostly shown when no audio drivers are installed. I encountered almost same problem. I just tried uninstalling the audio drivers and updates related to it. Although initially it didn't worked out, but after some retries and restarts, I was able to do it. Its least chances there's any hardware problem. If nothing works, give a last try by reinstalling OS.

@ Op - what OS you have installed ? Xp or Win 7. IF Xp try installing this

If this is not working just get a cheap sound card ;-)

^^ After installing MS UAA bus driver re/install your audio driver and your audio device should work fine.
