Take a look at the AMD vs Intel story from this angle: each time Intel brings some new CPU, AMD is bringing something new a month later which manages to beat Intel's older CPU. Phenom X4 9950 beats C2Q Q6600 while it can't even touch pwnryn quads. Barcelona beats Clovertown but can't touch harpertown.
