Alternate for Microsoft Outlook

Hi Guys,

I am looking for some alternate client to Microsoft Outlook. The client should support most features if not all available in Outlook most importantly the Profile Feature.

Most clients I've come accross provide option for multiple E-mail account / personalities but all of them seem to share the same Personal Folders, Contact book, Calendar and Tasks. I would like the client to support different profiles like Outlook does.

If you are aware of some worthy alternate for Microsoft Outlook please lemme know. I'll be using it on Windows Vista so anthing that could work on Windows XP should be good

Well I've used Thunderbird before and somehow it never seems to get the freebusy data and calender meeting updated from my Exchange server right ... donno why

Yes, Thunderbird can't show calender info and status(chat thing.)

Besides, what is the problem u facing with Outlook that u have to search for alternatives, I am not pro-Microsoft (Read pushing MS) But what is the problem with Outlook. I found Outlook 2007 really neat and Awesome.

Windows Live Mail is the BEST atm. I'm using it for my e-mail IDs and its great.

Yeah I already tried Windows Live Mail but it doesn't allow profiles

Have already started using Thunderbird for the 2 account though it has some issue's but seems manageable ...

Another choice is Eudora... It has just recently been taken up by Mozilla, the group working with Thunderbird.... IMHO, Eudora has many features better than Thunderbird... In some features, it is better than Outlook, but it does lack a few features.... Check it out to see if it is right for you...

There is hardly any complete alternate to Outlook. Why r u looking for an alternate at the first place? If outlook does everything for u why not use that.

If you just want a mail client like Outlook then use Windows Live Mail, thts the only one I can think of.

Or you can give a try to Lotus Notes.

Thanks guys I've kinda worked the situation out ... using all three clients Outlook, Windows Mail & Thunderbird @ the same time, so I have all my three accounts online and they don't get mixed up .... this setup might be weird but works fine for me

There is no better alternative to Outlook when it comes to MSExchange integration. But if your needs do not directly depend on Exchange Server integration then the best choice would be thunderbird. Outlook itself provides multiprofiles with options for different folders, rules and whatnot. I wonder why having several accounts being managed in segregated fashion on outlook be a problem.

thunderbird is not an exact alternative to Outlook - though it is better than Outlook Express.

But you can sure consider the combination -

Firefox, Thunderbird, Sunbird
