There's no need to buy AMD until you are involved in multithreaded apps. If you're looking at total gaming power then you should go for intel. And please answer the questions in sticky please, so it will be easier for people to help you.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:A mix of all.Games like crysis, medal of honor, call of duty.Watch movies, browsing and office work(mainly ms office). No video editing or photoshop. But little bit of sound editing like using sony sound forge for ripping CD's

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:35 to 40

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:No

Ans:No. Currentli i have a dell 19 inch with native resolution of 1400 x 900

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, Speaker.I have a corsair vx 450.Not sure whether it can be continued

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:1 to 2 months

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:It will be me alone!!

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?

The Gigabyte PSUs are crap . Many members in toms had problems with it. So a Seasonic S12 520W @ 3.8K will be fine .

I like both of your config's.But can i try HD 6850 instead of 7850?.That will bring the price down. Moreover my monitor's native resolution is only 1400*900.Also, will both of your config's above run on my vx 450?

There you go:

AMD FX-8150 + ASUS M5A97 EVO

Should be in the same price.

I suggest Intel for gaming and AMD for virtual machines.
