Hi Guys,

My Phenom X4 955 BE is roaring like crazy..Is that the case with all phenom X4 users?

Initially when i brought the processor digit forum members advised me to consider for heat sink as Phenom is a hot processor, but then i thought its bearable.. but now i have reached a point were i cant tolerate this anymore..This is also a caution for all the guys who are considering Phenom x4

Can i get warranty clam for this?

Since i'm really pissed off with its noise,i'm ready to pay around 2.5-3k for an after market heatsink.Which i think will increase the performance of my comp as well, wouldn't it?

Guys please give you valuable advice for finding a best buy for my budget.

^^ yes thats a common thing. fast, power hungry processor. tiny fan. what can you expect. you can claim RMA but will take some time. you can settle for the CM TX3. its the most basic one & not for OC. will keep proccy cool. alternately theres a lot of good HSF below 3k but its not good waste so much money on a HSF until you going to OC.

Thanx Sam, I'm not that games freak for doing much overclocking. I feel 3.2Ghz is more than enough for me. So u think CM TX3 is a gud buy for me and make my processor cool, quiet, fast?

Hi mavihs,
I'm using NZXT gamma..

Here is the details

CPU Temp: 60C - Under normal load
CPU FAN: 6500 rpm
CPU VCore: 1.44V
System Temperature: 36C
GPU Temp:56C

well thats too much!!!
i suggest changing the thermal paste, you should see around 10C drop in temps atleast!

Re: URGENT!!! After Market Heatsink for Phenom X4 955 BE

Guys please guide me in installing the heat sink to my mother board..The installation instruction with the cooler is not that great..

I brought coolermaster hyper tx3 i 'm not really getting a clue how to install it on my mother board which is MSI 790GX-G65..There is no holes in the mother board to insert that push pins

Please help me as i have disassembled my PC and dont know how to install the heat sink..

oh wow...Xenforo!!!
TX3 comes with instructions. You need to read the instructions, if for some reason it didn't come with one I am sure you will find one in coolermaster's website.

Also use only the screws/plates, etc. that came with the heatsink only. Some guy here installed his TRUE120-E with older set of screws that fell on 4850. He/his friend blamed on true120e, but the fact was that he was incompetant to do the needful. Moral of the story- RTFM

I figured out the installation.. But the installation manual is a really vague one.. I should have use the spring clip instead of push pin..No details about how to do it for phenom x4.

Tx3 has reduced my core temp to 42-45C from 60C.. and it is running at 3100RPM(which i'm not really happy about since there is some noticeable noise with that as well..But far better than previous)

Swimming, eh??
^^^good for you.
Though stock hsf keeps my p955 @ 43-45 deg centigrade.
@ ~6300 rpm @ 3.2 ghz.
And same at @~3200 rpm @ 800mhz/1.1v.
I am planning to get one hsf for heavy overclocking.
But thats a different story.
