You can try that, but if you reinstall XP without backing up your private key..............BOOM!! Your files are lost forever!!!! Don't ever try this please. I've lost lot if important data after doing this :(

Using Windows encryption, another user on the same computer can't run those files, leave alone using them on another system. Encrypted files are user specific, along with being system specific.

but putting those files on a fat32 file system makes the encrypted files useless.
