Suggest a replacement for LG G2 under 25k

Back to school!!
Hi Guys, my LG G2 just died today, well technically its not dead, but after it heated up while taking snaps, its dead to me :-?

The G2 is heating up significantly the past couple of weeks. Mild heating was common, during 3g streaming etc, but now its practically heating up like a furnace during any moderate cpu activity, like while taking multiple snaps one after another. Once while sync was going on I had used the camera, the CPU reached 65c+, which is insane but the battery did not heat up much. The cores started to throttle like crazy and the UI came to a near standstill, and the phone was too hot to touch. I had to shut it off. I can't blame the cpu as its working perfectly while watching videos using mxplayer, or playing music continuously for hours, or calling, or simply browsing/facebook. But when multiple cpu intensive activities are going on simultaneously all hell breaks loose. I can't blame the battery as its not heating up while charging and its lasting normally. This reminds of desktop cpus that heat up due to dust buildup in the cooler or the thermal paste had dried off, can't imagine this with my phone.

Anyway the phone had lasted for 2 years and I am too busy to take it to a service center. So I need a replacement. I want to buy a phone by September/October.

1. Budget?
25k max

2. Display type and size?
5.2"-5.5", max 5.7"

3. Dual sim?
Not required, nice to have.

4. Preferred choice of brand?
Anything other than Micromax, Lava, Xolo and the numerous other pseudo Indian/Chine brands.

5. What camera option you want (flash, front facing camera)?
Back snapper should take clean snaps, anything above 13mp, quality should come close to or match the G2 cam at least, don't care about the front cam.

6. Preferred operating system? (Android, iOS, Windows Phone, etc).
Android only

7. Preferred connectivity options (3G, 4G ready).
3G is good enough for me, couldn't care less about 4G, simply nice to have.

8. Primary use of handset (multimedia, camera, internet, gaming etc)?

A Lot of:
- Music/Videos.
- Plenty of browsing, I use 3g a lot.
Some:
- Photography
- Light gaming(no 3d racing action stuff), 2d arcades mostly.
Never:
-Selfie
-Heavy gaming

9. Any specific mobile phones in consideration?
Moto X2, Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Nexus 5
-Update: Xperia C4, Xperia Z2

10. Any other info that you want to share
Based on my usage scenario I need to following things:
-Very good Screen on Time, I spent a lot of time browsing, so a good power backup is must.
-I dread heating, so I want to avoid chipsets that heat up too much.
-Lightweight and snappy UI, I hate lags.
-Good after sales service is a strict requirement, can't deal with the cr@p that micromax threw at me with the Funbook.

Xperia Z3 /Z3 compact for their great battery backup

Both are out of his budget (He won't like Z3C)

Z2 is a good choice & has great battery life but has a not so bright screen, dimmer than G2 (Z3 has a brighter screen)
S5 has a bit brighter screen than Z2 + much better contrast due to AMOLED (Note: Since S5, AMOLED screens from samsung are great, you can change display mode to natural if you don't like a bit oversaturation)

S5 has good battery life too (Just check it out)

I would say S5 & Z2 the best options now

I'm avoiding Oneplus Two because of its average battery life & brand value
If Moto X Play launches, it will suffice you needs, though it can't play 4K videos but your G2 can

Where is the funbook now ?

I have a mi3. The UI is quite intuitive. LG G2 UI is not that good and for that matter even vanilla android is not so good.

I like One Plus One too. But no reason to upgrade.

As much as I hate Samsung I won't argue that they have consistently made some great flagships, S5 looks like an excellent phone as well. Its just that some people in my office use galaxy grand. That phone sucks a lot, frequent hanging, battery dying very fast etc, doesn't inspire confidence in Samsung.

How does S5/S4 etc behave after 1/2 years?

Its still with me, runs directly on charge, wi fi is dead, hangs a lot, everything crashes, the play store cannot connect. Its like a broken piece of furniture that sometimes you keep in your home.

Well...that's not fun at all.

How does S5/S4 etc behave after 1/2 years?

2 of my friends have S4 for the past 2 years. Till KK, their phone was a bit laggy but didn't hang (apps took a few more millisecs to open when compared to my old N4). Lollipop increased the speed. Its much smoother & faster now, though its still not as fast as stock android devices like N4 but the difference isn't visible until you go for comparison (its a matter of few millisecs)

1 of my friend has S5 with Lollipop & it was as fast as my N4 (just few millisec slower, not the same case for S6 ). But android M might be last update for S4 (or maybe Samsung won't give that too as S3 wasn't given Lollipop treatment). S5 is sure to get M

S5 on lollipop is good. I personally just don't like its design, rest is great

^ International S3 didn't even got Kitkat. They denied it because 1 GB ram was "not enough to handle" crapwiz kitkat. AT&T and/or korean version got it though.

Wait for one plus 2 sounds a better deal to me considering moto will be available in September.

I hate the design of S5, but I'll take good hardware over design anyday, good design plus poor hardware does not entice me, like the Nubia N9 mini.

How is the battery life of S5 with Lollipop?

Thanks, but I was looking for a more real world scenario. Like for an 1yr old phone with some wear on the battery, I want to know how such a device would behave under lollipop.

Damn it, Samsung SGS5 that are being sold in flipkart are using some Adonis Prime whatever chipset, its out of the list. Where is the SD801 version?

That's the Exynos variant IIRC.
Samdung doesn't cares about the snapdragon variant.

Yeah, competing with Apple won't get it anywhere, I think they are learning the hard way why every manufacturer is targeting the Indian middle class(~25k) segment and not the 40k+ segment(hint, that segment is ruled by a fruit company): $10 billion wiped off Samsung's market value - The Times of India
