Build A New Gaming PC for friend - Budget 40k

Hello Friends,

A friend of mine need to make a new PC for 40k. He just needs the CPU. So guys plz help me.


1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: GAMING. FPS Games (Crysis 3, Far Cry 3,Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Assassin's Creed seies....) , Internet surfing, Watching Movies

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 40k max

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: yes

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Win 7

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 750 gb(WD prefferred)

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Already has a monitor. 19". 1366*768. Not gonna change for some time.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Just want to buy the CPU & Keyboard, Mouse

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: As soon as the specs are finalized.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: I m going to help him to assemble

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Lives in Faridabad (Haryana), Nehru Palace but can buy from online stores.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: he is preferring AMD FX 8350/8320 so plz try to suggest build according to processor, like me he has a Microtek 800VA UPS

Please suggest me a good configuration

Actually, Fx 8350 is a bit overkill for just gaming at this budget. FX 6300 will povide almost equal gaming performance and will be 5k cheaper at the same time, thus, a better VFM.

FX 6300 (7200)
Asus M5A97 R2.0 (7100)
G.Skill ripjawsX 1600 MHz 4 GB (2400)
WD Blue 500 GB (3100)
Seasonic S12II 430W (3600)
Asus GTX650ti (10000)
NZXT Gamma (2600)
asus optical drive (1000)

total: 37k

A high end GPU will enable him to play the very demanding games like Crysis 3, Metro Last Light to high or very high setting with a more powerful GPU at 1366X768 resolution.

Friends thank u for ur reply to my post. Guys plz read the purpose of new config, games like crysis 3 did not run on his current config, right now budget is limited but he will upgrade to a 20" or 22" LED monitor in near future & how about a 990 chipset based motherboard, guys its future planning even if it require sacrificing something today so that the config can work with minor changes in future is goal. Plz suggest a mouse & keyboard combination that is good

GeForce GTX 660 vs 650 Ti Boost

GTX 660 is better and when overclocked it performs much better then 650ti

Here is what he is proposing to buy
FX 8320 (9500)
GIGABYTE 990XA UD(9250)
G.Skill ripjawsX 1600 MHz 4 GB (2400)
WD Blue 500 GB (3100)
Seasonic S12II 430W (3600)
Zotak GTX660 or ATI 7850 (13000)
NZXT Gamma (2600)

=40850
He will use old Cabinet & DVD RW but still require a Mouse & Keyboard so plz suggested & plz provide ur comments about this config

Get either GTX 660 or GTX 650 Ti Boost. HD 7850 an GTX 650 Ti Boost perform similarly while the later being cheaper. For Motherboard, check if you can accommodate a Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 Motherboard. It is available at 10.7K in Deltapage.com.

@op, I'm saying this again, fx 6300 will be better for you as there won't be a huge gaming performance difference between the two. And if you want only basic overclocking, then asus m5a97 r2.0 will be equally good for fx 6300.

Harshil i will try to convince my friend regarding FX6300 but r u sure it won't effect his gaming capability much bcoz he wants to play games like Crysis 3, Metro2033 which require multi core processor.The reason for upgarde was Crysis 3 did not work on his current configuration

Out of these 3 which one will VFM as a replacement to GIGABYTE 990XA UD3(9250)

for graphic card, you can go for sapphire,zotac,asus,gigabyte etc. I would prefer zotac as it offers 5 years of warranty after registering the product on their website.
edit:
since second mobo has dual x16 setup good for sli -ing and cross firing, you may better go for that.
