Help for new pc config

Right off the assembly line
Would this be a good configuration for a c.p.u?

MSI H61M-P20 (G3) Motherboard, intel g530 processor, ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 Synergy Edi tion 2 GB DDR. Wou3 Graphics Card. Would it be a gud config for a gaming rack. Plus 8 gb ram.

Go for Gskill ripjaws x 4gb ram stick(save money, you don't need 8gb, instead keep that money to buy better gpu later on)
Moreover vengeance sticks have high clearance height which will be a trouble while installing afternarket cpu cooler !

Go with Caviar blue series rather than green / green is a low rpm drive menat for data storage and not for rough usage !

I think for 2.4k NZXT Gamma cabinet is a much better option in terms of cooling and looks as well as cable routing !

Now last but not the least as the cpu is overclockable and there is no reason why you should not learn and venture into overclocking to get the most out of your hardware, i would suggest to look at slightly better motherboard, the odd 1.2k you are saving by taking 4gb ram can be diverted to motherboard budget and you should get this imo !

AMD A10-5800K (comes with HD 7660D Graphics) @ 8.4K
ASrock A85X Extreme 6/MSI A85X G65 @ 8K
GSkill Ripjaws X 1600 MHz 4GB X 1 CL9 DDR3 @ 1.5K
NZXT Gamma @ 2.4K
WD Caviar Blue 1TB/Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm @ 4.3K
Corsair CX 430 V2 @ 2.6K
Total --- roughly 26k

To save up a bit more you could take 500 GB instead of 1TB which would bring the cost down to 25K which is in your budget !

Instead of spending 8K for Motherboard at a 25K budget PC, get ASUS F2A85-M @ 6.7K which is more than sufficient for all your needs. With that money, get a single 1600 MHz 8GB Module from Corsair (2.7K) or Kingston HyperX Blue (3.1K). I am suggesting you 8GB because the IGP of the CPU, HD 7660D is going to share Memory from the existing Ram and it can share up to 2.5GB of memory, resulting only 1.5GB of effective system Memory in full GPU load sometimes. So 8GB module is recommended.

Also my preference is Kingston HyperX Blue module over G-Skill or Corsair Vengeance because of the overclocking potential. As IGP is going to use the same memory, faster the memory, faster the GPU performance. Even with older Llano APU, A8-3870K, it has been observed that there is more than 33% performance improvement between 1866 MHz Ram and a 1066 MHz Ram. Kingston modules are known for their extreme overclocking potential and they can run at 1866 MHz speed with ease. In fact they can be pushed over 2000 MHz with good stability.

Create a new thread & post appropriate requirements & budget then ask so that you perfect answer BTW the rig you posted cannot play latest games even at lowest settings

I dont want to stretch the budget to 25k..want to keep it to 20-23K.. so where can i cut back? i mean if i get a local cabinet, is that okay? I think darco's build up top would be just perfect for me at 21k..but i can spend an extra 2k here and there!

Nice point by Cilus, you can cut back on the motherboard and get whatever else i listed and your budget will be within 23k :)

Dude it still comes up to 25k and cilus has suggested 8gb ram so that adds to 25-26k again! I need to buy the ups too :-(

AMD A10-5800K (comes with HD 7660D Graphics) @ 8.4K
ASUS F2A85-M @ 6.7K
GSkill Ripjaws X 1600 MHz 4GB X 1 CL9 DDR3 @ 2.8K/as cilus has pointed out sansung has some really good ram modules out there which overclock really well(i believe they are low profile ones with lower voltage requirements).
Cooler Master Elite 311 1.8k
WD Caviar Blue 500GB/Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200rpm @ 3.4K
Corsair CX 430 V2 @ 2.6K
Total --- roughly 25K
Hmmm now even if you take local cabby which i won't suggest you will save another 700-800rs max which still won't bring your budget down to 23k as you desire, only viable option here seems to be to take 4gb ram now and add another 4 later or take cheaper cpu !

Hmm...so you are talking about my config....(first time for me):-D

about cabinet,
NZXT Source 210 Elite (1 Front USB 3.0 port) @ 2.6K is better as it has a 3.0 usb support. As the mobo has a 3.0 usb port too i think you will be better off with this .

But if you over clock, then may be you should get something with better air flow and add some ports later (something like this Newegg.com - GWC HU3140 USB 3.0 SuperSpeed 4-Port Hub with 4 Amp External Power Supply)

for no over clocking, you can safely rely on that NZXT Source 210 Elite.

Also the ram suggested by cilius is better [Kingston HyperX Blue (3.1K)]

actually a local one will also do good if you add the ports. You wont be needing many bays as there is only one hdd drive and i suppose you will add 1 CD-DVD drive . Make sure to buy a large one....

guys can i put this cpu to any use? Pentium(R) D 3.00 ghz and iball psu lpe223-400?? its from my old system!

even without external GPU, i doubt about that PSU

if budget problems get a Frontech 700 bucks PSU [very important no other brands] and dont overclock too high

:+1: for this comment if you wanna take the short route to Frying your PC ;)

@Draco: you write a book about Frying PCs without Oil and Fire. ;)

why??

frontech PSU's are very nice compared to all other PSU's at low cost also there is no external GPU to be added

That PSU can handle stuff alright. [ without external GPU of course]

yes frontech is better than all local brands especially their platinum series but you see its 600 watt model costs close to 2.5k or even more but in actuality its a mere 300-400 watt underpowered unit which can and i will stress "can" hold you system for an year or 2 without any issue if your power requirements are under 400 watt :)

But now comes the twist in 2.5-2.6k you can buy yourself a Corsair CX430 V2 which will be many time better than that frontech psu and has true 430 watts capability with 80+ certification, so you tell me now why should anyone buy frontech when you can get cx 430 for so cheap ;)

That was the whole point not that it will fry your system as someone said(as it won't unless you are overburdening that underpowered unit or don't have any spike buster or protection from voltage spikes/drops :p ) !

Was that for my comment ^ ?
Just asking !
Coz i know all that you are implying by posting that link, btw im also on overclock.net from which an article has been included in that link :p
