Cheaper Internet = more servers.

And Indians need to move on from CS/CS:S.

it would be good if BSNL gives RS. 250 unlimited net. Gaming will take a amazing turn if this happens.

1. Like ico said, guys to need to move on from the stone-age games like CS, quake.
2. Low upload speeds & costly internet. Once, i was so desperate to host an L4D2 server but ultimately, I couldn't move past the campaign mode due to lack of atleast 1mbps upload.

3. Pre-formed gangs. For example, people here hardly invite you to play with them.

4. Lack of proper gaming PCs. People outside have this notion that many of the Indians don't own a decent gaming PC & I too agree with this.

1.Its not the no. of games that will boost the gaming industry or the new games that will do it as the case of India is concerned. There are already not many gamers out there because of lack of interest, ****ed up pcs and bad broadband connectivity with other issues such as availibilty. Sticking to old games is good coz it increases the crowd and company's interest in holding events. Secondly, Indians are cheap coz they never buy genuine games at all(Ask urself that first - If u buy it then u r a rich spoilt kid.). Why should companies show any interest on pirates.

2.Brother as compared to the world, India's internet is one of the cheapest second to pakistan. In USA a 1mbps broadband connection costs about $65. In india its only about $25. Like I said, Indians want it all cheap still complain about it. And do not forget we are a developing country.

3. Playing with friends only is a kind of every1s habit. Its more fun and nice to play with friends. So if u call it a gang like thugs......lol

4.True true. But who has the money to always upgrade the ****ing pc.

The point is....We have to be cheap because we are not rich like europeans or americans....Paisa bolta hai.

Peace~~~!

Yeah I got more to say.

I have steam for CS1.6. All my friends ask why did u buy it when we can play it for free online and on lan. Can i use urs cdkey. Blah blah as ****. Not a single one of them is poor.

I got a razer death adder with goliathus mouse mat. All of them asked....Why on earth would u buy a 15rs mouse pad for 800bugs. Why????????? R u ****ing insane?

Rest of my games are AOE and NFSMW wich r ofcourse aahum aahum and meant for online playing only.

Yeah and I am happy with India's gaming scenario right now. I dont want company's interest in india's pirate industry for ****ing rules to come up like FUP or ip detection of downloaders or many other laws that is already petitioned or filed for in US courts. That would really suck. It wouldn't be fun if u had to pay for PORN. LOL

Its happy to be really free in democracy.

Peace~~~!

ye thugs kaha se aa gaya ? All I meant was that you will find new, interesting people to play with. Thats how I met my friends. Infact, when one of them is offline, I can call another guy who can occupy the empty slot. Also the new guy may have one particular game which you have but your gang or clan members don't :-o

Samjha ?

Thats y I strictly mentioned low upload speeds. I am ignoring the download speeds right now. There is no service provider in India which will give you upload speeds higher than 1mbps....perhaps reliance but I am not sure & also reliance doesn't have a good repo too. So, because of this problem, the following situation arises:

A: lets play. U host.
B: I can't host. You know my upload speed is even below 512kbps. Let C try.
C: Last time we tried but it lagged. My parents are also not willing to switch to another ISP.
A,B: same here.

C: Forget it...there is also no dedicated server...I am going to play this or that single player game....bye

^^^Arey that point was just funny to me. Who has the patience to ever invite some1 always to a game. It like cum and join. I add people according to their skills and so that i can follow them to rooms. Only clan mates give me invitations. No1 else. You are cho cho cho chweet to invite people over to ur games. But do u really want them to be happy or u want ur server to be full so that u can enjoy.

Waise gang or should i say grouping up part is kinda true. Go visit delhi zapaks. You will know. (Language like - bc mc maar saale ko....kaat bc r.... ko....Ho jaaye sector sector ka clan....bc teri ma na cho.. to naam badal diyo....utth na bc kitna khelega....saale pareshaan na kar nahi toh lun. kaat k haat may de dunga. They will piss you off untill u leave ur pc. Ye kaun hai...Utha na bhaiya ko...aap ghar kab jaoge....jaana..uthh....They keep pushing ur chairs.

Also, If u play cs1.6 then u might have visited NwR servers. I belong to that clan and hell yeah thats exclusive only to pro players. So everythings exclusive and who cares for invites and stuff. You have to be a go getter....LOL.

Peace~~~!

Well thats just me. I invite people when I see on the forums that they too like that particular game. Then, on a daily basis, we tend to have a lot of fun cos our sole aim is enjoyment. Then once, I am comfortable with the new guy, I tell my other gamer friends & the new guy to meet up..say for a lunch or dinner....Thats how I enjoy my life & my games.

What the hell is wrong with persisting with old games if they are classics like Quake III or CS:S? They work faster, have great communities and also well supported.

Our ISP should give us separate upload , download channels rather than all in single channel

I agree with everything you've said, but this is totally untrue. You get 4mbps unlimited in $10 in USA.

In Japan and South Korea, you're getting 20mbps unlimited for $25 a month.

And these are cable internet connections. They have good upload speed cuz they're not ADSL.

What the hell is wrong with persisting with old games if they are classics like Quake III or CS:S? They work faster, have great communities and also well supported.
Point is, we've had enough and it's the time to move on.

Legit games for PC will become a hit IF they are priced a little more sensibly. Eg- GTA IV

About the USA thing....I asked a fellow gamer about that who lives in california. He told me clearly its $65 for a 1mbps connection.

Now some google searching facts.....
Site No.1 - $50 to $250 per month for DSL
Site No.1 - $212 to $1200 per month for T1

While i was reading this...It came to my mind....Americas most famous ISP...Comcast....here r the rates and some conditions apply.

$69/month for 6months with dl speeds of 15mbps Limited to 250gb/month with television.

For Korea and japan i think that is true. but they too have download limits.

So FUP is everywhere....I love Mtnl....hehehehe.

Peace~~~!

Maybe some gamers have enough, but still there are loads of people still enjoying the old classics. Nothing wrong with that IMO.
And CS/CS:S are the most played games on Steam, so it's not an "Indian-only" issue.
The real issue is ignorance of other games. "Gamers" who have no idea of games even like Quake III, UrT, etc. and limit themselves to (cracked copies of) CS/CS:S, AoE, Crysis, CoD etc.

I dont think its fair to compare rents because those countries have incomes a lot higher than India.

FUP came from western countries. Airtel is specifically saying that in their site (FUP FAQ)..

Anyways, about games, I also purchase all the games I play. At the max it cost around Rs. 1000 for a game which is within my range if I go for one game in a month. For students, it is understood that not all parents can afford this "unnecessary" expenditure, atleast my parents couldn't.

BTW we have a separate thread in which we discussed about speeds people get in various countries and the price too. I think everyone said that it is cheaper out there. I am not sure about it though. When I asked my friends who went abroad, they said rent for high-speed internet connection was paid in the maintenance cost itself as it is a basic feature every house has, apart from electricity, gas and water.
