most of the current 22" monitors come with FullHD and I don't think you can game on it using 6100 chipset.

your best bet would be 19" or less. or get a Graphics card

^^ that depends, if u r talking abt HD, then I don't think u'll be able to play HD videos. Its better if u buy a graphics card first.

a 20" 2033SW for 7k and a HD4670/9600GT for 4.5k should be a good deal.

can you give me an idea about the size difference ? i mean is that a huge difference because i am buying it for my bedroom and i also intend to watch tv on it with a tuner .

hmm. 22" is too much if you are going to watch TV using a tuner unless your tuner support FullHD resolution. There will be lot of pixelation. Also, check LG's new 22" TV+monitor lcds. They come with inbuild tv tuner and you won't need to connect any external tuner. Price should be around 14k I think.

You should not buy 22",since you require new TV tuner + graphic card for the same.

If you are low on budget then go for "19" or 20" WIDE SCREEN" monitors with HD support, so that in future you can add graphic card as well.

Buy a 22" FULLHD resolution Monitor and wait patiently until u gather funds for video card. With 6100 u can't play most of the games - even in 19" (1440x900)

22" and 24" FULLHD Recommendations
BENQ E2200HD - <10K
SAMSUNG 2233SW - 10K
BENQ G2412HD - <13K
DELL S2409W - 15K (not sure)
The reason for mentioning about the 24" is that they aren't too costly and if you intend to watch movies from some distance in your bedroom - a BIG screen will be sweet than buying a smaller screen and getting itchy about that 2" INCH LESSer (which I feel now)

What's your CPU? - It is the main requirement for you to play HD movies. Of course, now NVIDIA has enabled CUDA acceleration and you can play HD movies with your video card - but I 'm not sure whether it supports older cards too!

I've got a D930 processor and it easily plays 720p movies but 1080p with some hiccups. So now I use NVIDIA CUDA on my 9600GT card to play lovely HD clips on my 22" monitor.

Recommendation:
Buy a 22"/24" FullHD monitor - Working with a large widescreen monitor is a treat. YOU got ample space. For the time being, play the games with less resolution (OR play in window mode with black background). After you get some funds you can buy the video card and be pleased with quality FULLHD games. Happies Endings

BUT if you buy a NON fullHD monitor now, for say around 7-9K, later you'll feel for not being able to see quality 1080p clips until you ditch this monitor.

emmarbee is correct, monitor is something that we don't buy every now and then. So, for now buy a 22" LCD and later insert a graphics card.

also, as per nVidia

300 MHz RAMDAC
Blazing-fast RAMDAC supports display with high, ergonomic refresh rates up to and including 1920x1440@75Hz.

Single-Link DVI Support
Able to drive flat-panel displays up to and including 1600x1200.
Feature only available for GeForce 6150/nForce 430.

you need to be sure if this 6100 can drive a FullHD display. what is the use if it eats up lot of CPU cycles?
