This is my full system config with their ages

Intel original p965 ry (1 yr)
Core 2 duo e6600 (1.5 yr)
3* 1gb ddr2 667mhz RAM (1.5 yr max)
MSI 8600GT 512 mb ddr2 graphic card (Just got a brand new on replacement)
Sony dvd writer
HDD0 => 160 Gb seagate SATA ( 6 month)
HDD1 => 500 gb seagate SATA2 32mb buffer (1 month)
1 led and 1 normal 80 mm fan attached
OS => Windows Vista ultimate 64-bit (updated regularly)
Graphics drivers and other drivers(except the bios) are also update regularly.

Now i have many problems......

1) For past three months, i am experiencing problems while playing heavy 3d games, specially DX10 ones. I remember that i played crysis warhead properly and then i bought far cry 2. The game runs fine with all settings set to high and a resolution of 1280*1024. But whenever i press a key or move the mouse, the game response after 500-600 ms.... just like a lag while paying online. it is not that the graphic settings are set to too high because the graphics accelerates smoothly, they only response late. When i pulles the the shader setting to DX9, only then i was able to play the game smoothly. With dx9, i was able to play the game with very high settings. I tried to tone down the graphic settings to lowest in DX10 mode, but the problem persists. Same happened with other games like NFS undercover and GTA4. I thought that this was my graphic card's problem, so i send it for replacement, and after a months waiting, i found the problem as it is. So, is it the motherboard or the graphic card. I know it is hardware problem as i have optimized my PC really well.

2) From past one week, my computer is making a strange and sharp beep like noise like that of a UPS or like you hear from a mike when it is turned on. Sometimes it is loud, sometimes it is low. Sometimes it shouts continuously, sometimes it occurs for short period. It occurs for no reason and nothing is changed on the working of the pc. It is not the regular beep sound from the motherboard and i am not sure that where it is coming from, thus assuming the motherboard. This shrill noise is really freaking me out and i dont know wheather this is going to harm my PC. Sometimes i feel like it is going to explode. I do no overclocking, then whay is this happening. Is this realted to some power supply issue???

3) I mentioned my complete configeration and feel like that my pc is not working upto its potential. Is it the power supply or it is just me.....

Plz guys, help me out.....

OOps.... forgot to mention the PSU
Its i ball 450 Watt PSU and is 1.5 years old....
Here i tell u one thing.... i ball cabinets and PS's are just piece of crap.....
IMO, just dont buy it...
I cant upgrade or change my PSU just because I-ball dont let any other PSU fit in its cage.....

1. Update Mobo Bios.
2. Open, clean & Refit every hardware component like gfx card, rams, cpu.
3. Apply a new layer of thermal paste & reinstall the cpu.
4. Reinstall your OS. Install all available updates & latest drivers.
5. Check your HDD for bad sectors.
6. Update the firmware of your 500GB hdd.

It seems like your hdd is making the noise though I'm not sure.

If possible try a another HDD.

If possible change the PSU for a better one like CM460W extreme plus.

I dont understand why people put their investment at risk with sub standard power supplies- especially when they are gaming. The 500GB seagate you bought, better not be 7200.11rpm one since they have issue of eventually slowing down and getting locked. To add what topgear has allready mentioned- run a memtest as well.

1. I dont think that this will work but i will try it as soon as i get a UPS.
2. 3. 4. 5. -- Done many a times...

6. I think that firmware update is killing the HDD's like mine. So i am not going to try that. There is no way that an HDD can make a noise like this.

@The Sorcerer
When i bought a PC 2 yrs back, 400 watt PSU is good and i-ball has got some repo. But how could i know that its going to ditch me. I even tried another PSU of frontech, (450 watt) but that F*** i-ball cabinet didnt let it fit in. I have to compromize some money to go for i-ball 450 watt. Here's one suggestion for you guys, never ever buy an I-ball cabinet. Its not only the PSU, each and every component of my system is loosely held because there is no standard maintained by I-ball.

Now i am trying to change my cabinet and will let u people know what happened. I am a hardware dealer in delhi and getting some really bad experiences(specially in last 3 months) from good companies like intel, MSI and AMD. Just after sorting out this problem, i would like to share all that with you people.

^^ Firmware update is not killing the hdds. Yes the 1st version of SD1A firmware bricked many hdds but the second version of SD1A firmware does cure all probs related to seagate 500GB hdds. Even I have one seagate 500GB hdd & updated it's firmware to SD1A.

You said all of your components are loosely connected with the cabinet. That could be the problem as loosely connected component can slowly kill it.

Get a new cabinet, connect all the hardwares properly

& i-ball, frontec etc. psu ranging between 300-600W are just craps. If you want a proper PSU get cm460W extreme plus, corsair VX450W or even colorsit or powersafe PSUor zebronics platinum series one.

You are right man.... All these PSU's are crap.... Frontech is not so bad IMO.... Previously i didnt bother much about good PSU's so as to save some money, now i think i should get one... Can you tell me the prices for the ones you suggested....
I am thinking of buying a Zebronics PSU, how abt that ????

Corsair VX450W Rs. 3900 ( if you upgrade to better proc & a gfx card later )

CoolerMaster Extreme Power Plus 460W Rs. 2400-2600 ( if you want a psu for your current rig & upgrade to 9800GT or like cards - I'm using it )

Zebronics Pure Platinum 500W Rs. 1500 ( if you are tight budget )

Get what fits your budget. But I will recommend the corsair VX450W or else get CM 460W extreme power plus.

King of my own Castle
Can i add my 2 cents here please ?
Like you confirmed, the your rigs easily plays all the games with Direct x 9 and only when you try using direct X10 does it shutters.
I think this has got to do more with MSI 8600GT 512 mb ddr2 that you are using.
8600Gt series are not the best graphic card to use with Direct x 10 simply because they dont have enough power.I has the same problem with XFX 8600GT until i upgraded to 3870X2
As for the noise part i think it has got more to do with the PSU.Dont buy another one straight away.Just open the psu and i am sure there is something intruding the Exhaust fan of the SMPS.
(About the iBall cabinet thing you mentioned i am sure you can just enough fit any SMPS or PSU in it )

8600 GT isnt so bad.... I played crysis and warhead with 1024*768 with gamer settings... it gave me around 30 fps. I know they are not so good but atleast not the cause for the problem. If they are just incappable to play the game, then they have also lagged in dx9, which it didnt do. And i said that the graphics are accelerating smoothly, but just responding a bit late.
The worst part about those PSU's are that you cant just open them or else you would end up voiding its warranty. The first thing that the guys at the warranty center checks is the sticker right on the nuts. If found something fishy, they just back off like they wanted this to happen and avoid some unnecessary replacements.

OK guys... i got the problem...
The new version of Speed Fan showed me the temperatures of my ICH which is 68 c. This is the reason for those beeps. As the temperature rises, the intensity of beeps also increases. Thus, it is the mobo creating all the troubles. It even gave me a BSOD on 73 c for the first time.
Here, i also tell you people, never go for Intel Original Motherboards if you are planning some addon cards. A TV tuner card is strict no. I have seen this many a times and some other experienced people have also told me this, intel creates problems with expansion cards sooner or later after installing them.

Now i have to go for the most difficult task, get my motherboard replaced.....

The Sorcerer

oh wow...Xenforo!!!
400 watt PSU is good and i-ball has got some repo.
Yeah they have a pretty good reputation frying a 150w office system eventually.
Not sure if this can be the directly linked to mobo- but eventually it will create problems. After buying a proper power supply, its best if you orthos stress test rams and processors and run hd tune's error scan for your hard drive. If you plan to stress test with this power supply- make sure you have a pretty good insurance policy for the house and a good extinguisher. Dont be suprised if I say that it did happen before- and Dont get me wrong but more sophisticated a tech becomes, the more sensitive it becomes to voltage fluctuations and ripples.
Just as a good to know info- active pfc based psu have certain humming issues with certain type of UPS. I dont know about UPS- never owned one. Allready confirmed with my source at corsair's tech support that humming shouldn't damage the psu or the system- but he's a u.s. support agent and they usually have APC. In this day of age, its best if one invests in an active pfc.

Mobo temps not only increases for the coz of of bad mobo but it can be due to a bad psu. Those el-cheapo psu some time just cannot deliver enough power to all components so the components get hot.

Now with my previous experiences with intel , i fear that they are going to hand me over my motherboard back. I am just trying out my chance. Any suggestions what should i do now. If they refuse to replace, that motherboard will be just a trash for me. I am so much fed up with intel mobo's now. I am not going to buy them any more.

The Sorcerer

oh wow...Xenforo!!!
If they refuse and give the reason that the motherboard was fried, its a no brainer that the warranty will be void in any pc components for using a substandard power supply. If they dont find out, consider youself lucky but dont consider yourself lucky always- and get a better psu.

Yaar I-ball is not that bad.... atleast it is not in the "Local" category as of now..... They just cant give me the excuse that the board is fried as all other components are working fine. If the PSU has done something, it could have been worse.
I am saying that they might handle me the board back because of the past experiences of mine. Not necessary that they give you their own piece, but it could be some other and that too a faulty one. Consider this-- I recently wasted one month of my customer to get his Intel 965 RY replaced. The problem was that his Dual core processor, which is supported, is not working at all. Processor is working on other boards. But strangely, on the replcaed board, the problems persists. You might not believe this but this actually happened to me. That time i didnt take proper steps but now i am keeping the track of all their procedures so that i can file a case in the consumer court later if applicable.
