WinXP Remote Control

Hi,
I had a Pinnacle PCTV Tuner Card which conked out with a voltage spike. Now I am left with just the remote control and I would like to use this to use multimedia features on my windows wg: volume control (up/down/mute), open applications, shutdown PC etc.

Is anyone aware of any available software that would help me do this?

I remeber there is some way....but I can't recall exactly.Give me some time,I will have to search.

use a software like GIRDER or WINLIRC .....
