It is the Vista RC1. Will the final release run faster? I did not install it because I thought it wouldn't really make any difference in performance.

Plz do not use Windows Vista anymore, you really don't know anything about OS & PCs :D. Have mercy on the soul of PC, thats the most funniest comment I have ever heard. Even a new user knows this that Final version is better then beta.

RC1 was tooo old, not fully compatible drivers & a lot of debug code. About 95% MB of debug code is removed by going to Vista RTM. I have to say there is still debug code in a few places in Vista, but they don't make much difference anyway. They come into account only when you have a memory error etc

I ran it on a system that has the nVidia 6600GT 256MB graphics card installed and has 512 MB of RAM. It has the Intel Pentium 4 2.66 GHz processor

This computer is super solid & good enough for Vista boy. Just get 1 GB RAM, it's not very costly & u can upgrade anytime to more RAM. Also get the proper drivers. Since you do not game, u don't have to worry about frequesnt driver updates to. you can also make a slipstreamed Vista DVD using WAIK

@Tarey

fu**, nice computer man, wanna donate it for some rendering :D. I m myself buying a cheap AGP 6600GT\7300GT with 256 MB RAM, for non-gaming needs. Finally saling my FX 5900XT

My comp is not nice yet , but i hope it will be soon. Just some investment and i'll be gaming again. I sold my 6600gt coz i was not able to play the new games and bad console ports on good settings.

You are such a big jerk! No wonder it is impossible to have a civil conversation with you. :mad:
Here I was trying to get some help because it was running very slow on my machine. I didn't know that there would be a huge difference between the release candidate and final version. And that is generally the case. Once a software is out of beta, it almost as good as the final version. Nowadays, most software functions absolutely fine even in the beta stages.
All you should have said, if you had even the slightest hint of any online etiquette in you, is that the final version will run fine on my PC and that I should give it a try. But no, you have to load every single post you make with such crap!

You mocked me for being eighteen. LOL! I am glad that I have more sense at eighteen than you have managed to acquire at the grand old age of twenty two. Grow up.

@Others who are interested in knowing if it is running fine on my machine now, if there are any:
I am installing it at present and hoping it runs fast enough to at least be usable. I cannot upgrade my RAM at present. :(
