After Android, its time for Microsoft to break the 10k mobile barrier. If you are in touch with the mobile market you'll know that the cheapest WP7.5 mobile cost 15k or more (Nokia Lumia 710) but to be a success, Microsoft must launch cheaper mobiles, below 10k is possible. But till now this is not a possibility cause of M$ strict hardware requirements.
Now with the planned Tango update this should be somewhat achievable. Heres what Tango brings to the table:
Import/export contacts from your SIM card
finer grained roaming options
download and update apps automatically through Zune
More number of preinstalled apps (double acc to some sites)
But the above are the +ve points. Heres whats we should have for lowend mobiles:
Support mobiles with just 256Mb ram (i see Symbian mobile users are have their palm on their faces )
Third-party Live tiles won't update automatically (there goes WP7's glory)
Won't be able to play videos with bitrate over 4Mbps
Won't let you manage podcasts on the phone
Photos can't be uploaded automatically to SkyDrive
Heres a few more:
minimum camera restriction is 3Mp
Streaming audio-video will be played with the quality set by default on the server (bad news for slow wifi or normal 3G users)
many apps won't be supported for less ram.
With these kind of restriction and Symbian mobiles showing getting close to 2012 (end of their life), i won't be surprised if 2013 begins with a 4:5 Android mobile scenario.
