Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) to be upgraded

What is the point of installing a security patch. I do not fear hackers getting into my sys. They would not find anything useful of my sys. Security updates are good for paranoid people.

Same here. After the Bluetooth incident I totally avoid Windows Updates. I never encountered virus except once by accident and once deliberately but that was during my Windows 98 and Me days. A good free antivirus like AVG updated regularly (automatic), a working spyware (Spybot SD) and firewall (Comodo) do all for me. I don't visit porn or warez sites so chances of getting malware or getting hacked it slim. Plus my wireless router is a natural firewall. Makes me feel so secure.

well you can make your copy of windows original by using *student*. . i wont say any further hint . it will work forever cause MS cant disable that , as its given for educational institutions for testing xp pro with all functions . its WGA proof . i am running for a year now with all WGA and stuff and nothing beats it . and it will never get beaten .

I m using genuine windows, so no worries on that front, however, I do not use automatic updates, I make it a oint to visit microsoft.com, check out the list of updates and only install those that I find are required after reading what they aree supposed to do.. This way, I dont land up having stuff installed on my Comp without my knowledge. Also, visiting the MS website lets me dl uploads for office as well at one convenient go.

You know what Microsoft will say?. They will say this we are extremely sorry for what happened. We made some translation error and we regret from inconvience. That is all ms is good for.

I still fail to understand the utility of WGA, all that it promotes is a minor hassle for genuine users and a slightly less minor hassle for pirated users, considering that WGA cracks keep coming out within a day or two of the WGA update. The only thing that is happening is that Microsoft is wasting valuable programmer time.
