Hi..
MY XP is not starting. Its throwing a blue screen that says "Unmountable Boot Device" .. Its not starting in Safe mode as well.
When i tried to repair/reinstall it using XP SP2 boot CD, it again shows the blue screen specifyin error in acpi.sys (this come at the time when it says "Windows is starting" .. before giving any inputs...) ..
THis PC has a SATA HDD (MAxtor) .. 3.0 Pentium with AGP GRaphics card on board..

Hi,
Try turning off acpi in the bios. Also borrow a xp cd from a friend.
You may also want to check your Ram.If there's more than one stick, try with each one individually.Or use memtest with a bootable floppy or sth.

I think his prob arise when there is a prob in the booting sequence. Chech the BIOS settings regarding the booting sequence
