Jus some netowrking features and IIS, nothing much to worry about, if you use it for commercial purposes over loads of computers, buy the Pro, else go for home for a limited amount of computers on network.

I Always Prefer 1080p
XP Home doesnt support

1.REMOTE DESKTOP
2.IIS OR INTERNET INFORMATION SERVICES
3.OFFLINE FILES AND FOLDERS
4.EFS OR ENCRYPTING FILE SYSTEM
5.GROUP POLICY
6.SOFTWARE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
7.ROAMING USER PROFILES
8.REMOTE INSTALLATION SERVICES
9.MULTI-LINGUAL USER INTERFACE
10.DUAL CORE PROCESSOR

on the other hand XP PRO SP2 rocks

Are you asking me? AFAIK the only big factor for home users was that they were missing IIS, so installing VS would become a problem. Anyways if you use your comp for devel purposes mostly use Pro, kinda makes installing stuff easier and no dependency troubles.

If you are ever in an environment where you have to do network sharing, etc where you need to look into security aspects, etc... such as you may have in a small office, etc... I would strongly advice against WinXP Home.... I have used both.... In a simple home environment, XP Home is fine... When you have even the smallest of office environments, configuring security in XP Home is a hassle...

VS is Visual Studio (MS's .Net development IDEs)

Home is cheaper and good for small networks like sakumar has already mentioned. May be a wiser buy sinc we can install almost all stuff on it like we can install on Pro.
