Hi Everyone,

I have very recently bought a Sony-Vaio Laptop. I have set a BIOS Password
for it, the other day I accidentally entered a wrong password in it more
then 3 times on the fourth attempt it gave a very strange message asking me
to enter a one time key which the Sony-Vaio has given me which I am still
trying to figure out what is it ? So in simple words it got locked and then
after that it would just not react to anything it had freezed .Only way out
was to enter that key which it was asking me, and which I did not have. Not
knowing how to react to it, I Hard-Booted it (Kept pressing the ON/OFF
button for a while till it shut down and then again restarted it.) And then
it started working fine. So as of now it is working absolutely fine. I have
just done this once so far and don’t intend to do it again. My question is,
what I did just once will it by any chance would have caused any damage to
the colour resolution, screen display, picture quality of the Laptop. Or
even the Hardware or the Motherboard. Just to remind you guys I have just
done it once and it is working fine as it was before. I also do not even
see any difference in the colour and picture quality, atleast it is not
noticeable. But this is just to convince myself I would like to know can it
cause any damage. If and if at all it has to cause any damage where can it
cause the damage what would be the visible signs for it…Please help! I am a
little worried as I am in love with this model and the picture quality and
screen display of this model and just cannot imagine anything going wrong
to it or anything making it less effective...

First and foremost. Dont post the same thing all over.
For your problem; simply dont enter a wrong password. :) You now know the password, so what is your problem. ?? Keep on using it. There is no problem with your laptop.

One thing; do try to get the PassKey whaich needs to be entered if you enter a wrong password. Look at the manual or product packaging. It must be somewhere. Or consult the place from where you procured your lappy.

I hope I'm clear. :)
