dont say all nokia phones are repairable & sturdy, only their cheaper models are so but not the higher end models. You can throw a plastic on floor and see no damage same will not happen as such when u throw a glass on floor.

@krazzy: thanks man :) you made my day. I actually looked at some more photos of the phone and the net and then tried it out at one of my friend's mobile shop. I like it. I will buy the 3120c for sure, 6233 is out of my mind now. Just one more concern, In many of the classic series phones i have seen some serious limitations when it comes to GPRS. Some of them dont give the option to get custom settings from providers and provide hardcoded settings with them which many of the time dont work. My niece had such a phone, dont remember the model exactly, but its one from classic series and he can run opera on it. Not that opera doesn't installs on it, but after installing, opera fails to work with the hardcoded settings in the phone and the phone doesn't allows to get new settings from Vodafone. Vodafone rejects the settings request saying that the phone doesn't supports this feature. WTH! Can you please confirm this for me buddy?
Java apps usually fail to connect to the GPRS in S40 phones because the GPRS settings are usually set to only be used for the built-in browser. They need to be set to be used on Java apps as well (there is a setting for it). After that Java apps like Opera Mini can work. I've faced this problem myself in my sister's previous Nokia 6060, but a bit of digging around in the Settings got the job done.

If you have any more queries, then PM me instead of posting in this thread as we are going off-topic. :)

ofcourse but older models of SE were not having good interface...but nokia maintained it from the beginning itself

Nah! No more queries. Will get it within a week. Arranging money for it, i wasnt prepared for this after spending 10K 3 months ago. Thanks for the help buddy.

:D Oh ya, i just forgot what this thread is all about. Sorry folks for the offtopic posts, please carry on the discussion :)

ONTOPIC: Interface wise i guess both Nokia and SE has done a very good job. I have no complaints from SE phones except for their really tight integration of components on motherboard of phone which may make the phone a bit lighter but almost zeros out the possibility of repairs.

@axxo: ya you are right buddy, but even in higher end models, only some "badly designed from inside" (in my terms) ones have got things that cause problmes in repairing. For example, the 3230 (use to be a high end model before) has a thin plastic based printed circuit connector which connects the POP port to the main board of the phone. This thin and fragile connector sits near the lower end of the phone and gets instant impacts if you drop the phone. So its one the things in the phone that makes repairing it a bit harder than other phones. The N series phones mostly use a cable based approach instead of thin plastic printed circuit connectors which is much more sturdy and "repair-friendly" :D

My reasons:

1 ~ Symbian
2 ~ Phones are solid
3 ~ Cheap accessories (Try buying a Samsung data cable, they have an affinity for proprietary ports which makes me hate them)

Planning to purchase Nokia 5800 Xpress when it comes out (Yep, the tube, touchscreen, multitouch, handwriting recognition and above all, S60 with 16:9 screen format)

Right off the assembly line
I buy nokia coz of
Symbian OS
hence i can try new n different things by installing softwares
Phones are stable
design is quite good
n last , resale value is great

and one more thing is that if we buy a Nokia Nseries phone
approx. 9 to 12 months or more after its launch you don't need to shell out a lot of money.
take the case of N73 Music Edition which was for Rs. 24,000 when launched.
and now it is for Rs. 14,000 which I think , it is a awesome deal
