Currently I am having a 4gb hynx ram . now its running at 800mhz speed.

Motherboard = Asus p5g41t-m lx

I know this motherboard supports 1333 max , But I dont know why the RAM is running at a lower speed .

Below are the screenshots

*s15.postimage.org/9fgfdtpwb/image.jpg

*s13.postimage.org/r4501d3k7/Ram1.jpg

*s14.postimage.org/xocshfw1d/Ram2.jpg

How can I make this run at maximum speed ?

And also If I am to buy a 4gb extra ram to configure as dual channel , which ram should I buy ?

Can anyone help me to select a Ram from an online shopping site ? ( Preferably flipkart )

Thanks :)

Checked the specifications of your mobo, 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM is supported.
The following RAM modules are great VALUE FOR MONEY RAM :
Kingston 4 GB DDR3 Desktop RAM - 1430/- on Flipkart

Transcend 4 GB DDR3 Desktop RAM - 1276/- on Flipkart

Hope this helps..

But sir , Can you please explain why my ram is not running at full speed ?

I had uploaded cpu-z screenshots before , but its not being shown .

I can re upload it , if you require to check them .

Current memory is hmt351u6bfr8c-h9 ( hynix 4gb ddr3 )

From the specification your m/b support ram speed 1333Mhz with O.C. By default it support 1066/800Mhz. And your ram PC3-10700 support 1333Mhz that's why i think it create problem.

@ OP - go into bios setting and set appropriate ram ratio/multiplier setting or else increase FSB ( this will OC the cpu ) and decrease multiplier to run cpu at stock speed - follow these steps to get your desired ram speed.

Hi , Can you elaborate a little :) . I have been reading a lot of articles and am becoming more n more confused .

I think I will just give it a try .

I dont know how to set ram ratio/multiplier ( may be my bios doesn't have it )

And the second method , to get fsb 1333 , I have to set value 333 right ?
then how much should I set multiplier value to get stock speed ( 2.4ghz )

Processor is e2220

simply you should look inside your motherboard driver disk their is a Turbo key . you should install it and thats it. It is a overclocking mode for ram. I had also this motherboard,

@ Allu Azad - your mobo manual should let you know where you can find settings like FSB/Multiplier etc.

Set the cpu multiplier to 7/7.5 or 8x to getr closet possible cpu speed - but this FSB speed may or may not be stable - so start with 266 Mhz FSB and 9x multiplier which will boost up the mem speed to ~1066 Mhz - then increase the FSB speed at 10 Mhz speed ( also change multiplier accordingly to match cpu clock speed ) until the system becomes unstable - then decrease the FSB by 10/20 Mhz - you will get the best possible mem speed.

so start with 266 Mhz FSB and 9x multiplier which will boost up the mem speed to ~1066 Mhz -

Done that

Now my ram is running at 1066 . Much better :)

I am somewhat worried about setting it higher bcz i only have stock cooler . I am afraid i may fry the processor :-D

Another doubt - Now I have only increased the fsb right . So , is this actually overclocking ? Does this have any adverse effects ?

CPU-Z Validator 3.1

I have put on hold ram buying decision . I have to get a processor with 1333 fsb before that :)

actuall your cpu is running at a little under clocked clock speed rather than Overclocking ;-) and as long as you keep the cpu speed close to the stock speed ( by incresing FSB but reducing multiplier ) there's nothing to worry about.

If your current cpu can run fine at 1333Mhz FSB then try it first.

Do i have to manually set PCI Express Frequency and PCI Clock Synchronization ?

CPU: Intel - HOWTO Overclock C2Q (Quads) and C2D (Duals) - A Guide v1.4 - EXTREME Overclocking Forums

I read here that otherwise Pcie will also run according to fsb which can damage the video card :O

Not running at 1333 fsb :(

Currently running at 1066 . Pcie set to 100 Mhz :)

Temp - Min = 36 , Max = 72

Is this good ?

Max is too high. Should be around 50C. At max 65C. You shouldn't cross 65C.

checked temps at stock fsb

Min = 37

Max = 71 :-(

( Checked with CoreTemp , while using prime95 )

What should i do ?

Should I get another cooler ? Can u suggest one at budget price ?

71C under prime95 is OK temp ( tested with smallFFt ? ) - most of the real wrld apps/games will keep it around ~65-68c then but if you need to get a cooler consider getting CM Hyper TX3 priced arund ~1.3k.

71?
I think airflow inside the cabinet is a bit low, and that's what causes the increase in temperature.

Tests were using in-place large ffts .
@ small ffts max temp was 70.

Cleaned cabby after 3 months , ate lots of dust :(

Noticed that the cooler is showing Cooler Master logo . Shouldn't it be showing Intel logo if it's stock cooler ?

71?

Don't know about that . But I have a small fan on the cabinet also ( Chassis fan ? ) .
