Well I want to browse web pages as fast as possible with my internet connection.
But my condition is I don't to change anything in hardware and dont want to install any internet boosting softwares.
I have
Win XP Professional version 2002
IE 6 and Mozilla Firefox 1.5
and am connecting thru Bsnl Dial Up
Now Pls suggest me the settings to do in these things. Well I use both the browsers so Pls provide settings for both these browsers.
I want settings like..
not showing images in the browsers
but when want to see any image while browsing, I can right click that image part(or small icon replaced for that image) and select an option to show that perticular image.
I dont want any type of show on my PC, Things must look as simple as they can and must open as fast as they can.

even i want my PC to run fast
I think u must have understood what i want to tell, tell me each and every setting possible. But these settings shouldnt harm my PC's hardware. I dont want to spend a single Rupee on this.

if firefox is your browser...

1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit enter. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

More options:

For ADSL:
1. Type: about:config
2. Set:
network.http.max-connections : 64
network.http.max-connections-per-server : 21
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server : 8
network.http.pipelining : true
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests : 100
network.http.proxy.pipelining : true

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves. (Copy from TvM)

For Dial_ip:
browser.cache.disk_cache_ssl : true
browser.xul.error_pages.enabled : true
content.interrupt.parsing : true
content.max.tokenizing.time : 3000000
content.maxtextrun : 8191
content.notify.backoffcount : 5
content.notify.interval : 750000
content.notify.ontimer : true
content.switch.threshold : 750000
network.http.max-connections : 32
network.http.max-connections-per-server : 8
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy : 8
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server : 4
network.http.pipelining : true
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests : 8
network.http.proxy.pipelining : true
nglayout.initialpaint.delay : 750
plugin.expose_full_path : true
signed.applets.codebase_principal_support : true

This will not help you a lot..but give it a try
Defrag the HDD...as this will help to improve the speed of files loading from cache.
If speed is what you want go for Opera..it has features and is light on resources too..

Have a look at this : *www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/

you can use Tz cinnection booster.
also you can try this
go to start>run>type gpedit.msc
from there browse to local computer policy >administrative template>network>qos packet scheduler> limit reservable band with and then click on enabled and set the limit % to 0. you will surely notice some improvement in speed as it disables the bandwith limit windows reserves for auto updates.

Use FireFox & Here are the Things that will make pages load faster!!

* Install the FireFox extensions 'FasterFox, 'AdBlock', 'NoScript' & other ones you
need. Get it from here : *addons.mozilla.org/firefox/

* Configure the 'AdBlock' by right-clicking on its icon (at the bottom right statusbar)
Choose Options . And that dialog box that pop type '*' .This means all Ads from
the Website are blocked!!
* Also configure FireFox to 'Load Images from the originating site only'.
You can do that in the 'Options' dialog.
