I have couple of photos that I took from my digital camera. The size of these pics are large so I want to reduce the file size without losing much on quality. What would be the best software to do it?

ACDSee 5.0 or above. Much better quality at relatively lower file size.

Use stripfile to remove unneccesary info from a image taken in a camera like camera model, time at which picture taken, frame rate. Thus you can reduce the size of image upto 20 %. You can further decrease their size by reducing the resolution of pictures which are above 5mega pixels using software like microsoft picture manager or image resizer powertoy without seeing much any change in quality.
