What does this means?

When I scan my Windows by using Avast 4.7 Home Edition, some files like -
C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\...\update_SP1QFE.inf/msrating.dll/update.exe/ q82806.cat/_sfx_0034._p/update.ver/W95INF16.DLL/MSIDENT.DLL etc, etc had appeared in the result saying that "Unable to scan". What does this result means? Does it mean some of my files had infected virus? If so, how to clean 'em?
