I've thinking these past days about the ways in which commom-man can help the environment. I could only think of one. Other people please share your tips and help increase the list. 
1)Don't throw those "chips" packets , etc on the road, drains, or anywhere public. Instead open them up nicely, eat and then fold the packet nicely and keep it in your pocket, car's desk-box, side pocket of bag or anywhere possible and throw them at the nearest dustbin.
2)Upgrade your moblie or pc only when necessary reduce e-waste (by mithun_mrg)
3)Reduce power consumption by using green tech. (by dashing.sujay)
4)Save paper, save tree. (by dashing.sujay)
5)Since almost everyone today has a computer or a laptop it is better that we get Pen Tablets for writing work so that we can save paper and at the same time better organize notes. (by The Conqueror)
6)Look for energy star qualified products.(by Kola2842)
7)plant trees and don't just forget to take care of them. (by piyush)
8)Use public transport whenever possible .(by piyush)
9)Use water efficiently because the portion of potable water on earth is too small and our groundwater level is decreasing at alarming rate.(by piyush)
