weird xp problem

My xp keeps asking for a password after resuming from hibernate or after switching user.
It asks for password even when I haven't set one for a particular user.
and for the user I do have a password, entering the password doesn't works.
After a restart everything works fine..
I did a scan, nothing found. Could this be a problem with my laptop, earlier it set up a bios password all by itself.

Any ideas?

reisntall your windows

Dude firstly try deleting all the users in windows also go to %documents and delete the users which u have removed . .then make a new user and don't put any password for tht user .Log off system n then c does the same error occours .If no then u may create new users with pass according to ur requirement ,If yes i guess u reinstall windows xp
