IMO if 650 ti boost can match the performance and price, its a much better option because of TxAA

The 2GB version is just slower than the 7850 and priced a smidgen lower as well, so it IS fighting the 7850.
The 1GB version fights the 7790.
the competition of GTX 650 Ti Boost is with HD7790 not HD7850

yes exactly,650ti 1 GB version will compete with 7790 and 2GB version will compete with 7850 2 GB.so according to anandtech review 7850 is faster than 650Ti boost and bit higher prices of 7850( if it is there after rebates because after rebates their price comes very close) is justified by the bundled games which you will get along with it.btw don't bother to look at tom's review because they have compared 650Ti boost with 7850 1 GB version in which they both perform equally.so after this release also 7850 is a better choice in that segment but we may see some price cuts in AMD's side.
btw we still don't have 650Ti 1 Gb version reviews.

Yeah, dont you see at a glance how the performance should largely look like? The OCed cards slightly better than their regular counterparts and Boost > Ti > vanilla and 2GB >= 1GB approximately.
Now look at model numbers like 7790, 7850, 7870, 7950. How do I tell at a glance how the performance hierarchy will be, unless I have actively followed their reviews? Or am I missing something here?

yeah, right but I think there won't be much performance difference between 1GB and 2GB variant and the 1GB variant is what most people may buy. And as per the naming oes this should be named as GTX 655
