the competition of GTX 650 Ti Boost is with HD7790 not HD7850
Nvidia strikes back: GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost slams into AMD’s HD 7790 | ExtremeTech
how many GTX 650 do we need?
If it was named "GTX 660 Lite", then how many 660 do we need?Like anandtech put it, this card is more appropriately called the 660 Lite or something similar, rather than being called a 650 Ti Boost.
If it was named "GTX 660 Lite", then how many 660 do we need?
nVidia should get their naming scheme sorted.
^ We now have
GTX 650, GTX 650 (amp or overclocked edition), GTX 650 Ti 1GB, GTX 650 Ti 1 GB (Overclock edition), GTX 650 Ti 2 GB, GTX 650 Ti 2GB (Overclock Edition) and GTX 650 Ti Boost
and you say AMD needs to change it's naming scheme ?
Nothing at all is wrong with AMD's scheme.I'd much rather have AMD have their naming scheme sorted. The Nvidia names sound more logical to me.
common sense. Just see which number is greater than the other. Now look at model numbers like 7790, 7850, 7870, 7950. How do I tell at a glance how the performance hierarchy will be, unless I have actively followed their reviews? Or am I missing something here?
The 2GB version is just slower than the 7850 and priced a smidgen lower as well, so it IS fighting the 7850.
The 1GB version fights the 7790.
