upgrading from kubuntu 8.04 to ubuntu 8.10

guys

i have kubuntu 8.04 on my laptop and would like to upgrade it to ubuntu 8.10. is there any way to do that without disturbing my partitions?

I know this is a bit too much to ask for :D but is there any way i can upgrade from Feisty (7.04) to this new 8.10 ??

Yes you can, but you'll have to go through every one of them to have a safe upgrade. (i.e.) Your update cycle would look like this: 7.04 -> 7.10 -> 8.04 -> 8.10.

Ur link is good but what if we want to upgrade from ubuntu 8.10 cd.

I mean i have 8.4 and want to upgrade from 8.4 to 8.10 not from internet but from cd, then wat shud i do?

Another thing, can i shrink ubuntu partition? I have ubuntu partition on f: of 30gb, but i want to make it 15 gb & i want to give another 15 gb to e: or will make a new partition(of ntfs ofcourse).But can i do this & how?
