A human, I use Ubuntu
I use Ubuntu Hardy.

I am experiencing shutdown problems like taking long time, pc hanging while shutdown etc., recently. I see lot of messages on screen during shutdown, while this was not the case earlier. Earlier I used see only the orange ubuntu progress bar and the shutdown was quick.

The recent changes that I made to the system are:
1. Installed Avant Window Navigator
2. Installed Screenlets
3. Installed Wine.

Could any of these be causing the problem? Any suggestions?

some service fails to stop properly .that you should have to check from /var/log/ dir files.

an easy method to see the error ,you may open a terminal and "sudo telinit 1" and see which process is hanging.(press alt+tab to see the o/p).
