Tracing Email Source...!!

HI friends,

I am here after a long time, asking for help. Can u tell me how can I trace a email.
Don't tell me I can do it by tracing IP. Okay, tell me if I got IP of the computer or its ISP, then how can I understand that the particular IP is belong to which country or location.???

Please help....!!!

I tried my ip, it says I am somewhere around US.

Can't I get the exact location or something close clue to get the jerk sending my sis vulgour mails for long.................!!!!!!!!!!

I dont think it is poss for common ppl like us to pinpoint an IP addr. unless u
belong to the IB, RAW, CID or something like that as those ppl have access to the servers in the US to find out frm where exactly are emails being sent from.
U can also try gettin in touch with the cyber crimes dept. of ur plc as dey
mite b able to help u.

As most of the servers are based in the US, u r bound to get the location
as US in most of the cases

PS: Why dont u try sending some viruses, trojens, etc. to the person sending
those emails???

You all are right..........!!!

I am trying to trace email source for long, but its not possible to get the identity of particular person/computer.

So why the hell we discuss here about hiding/unbinding (ref. to several threads on this topic) the IP. Its useless, if somebody, just can not get identity then why should we bother ourselves in hiding IP address.

But, I will find a way to get that jerk soon, may be not by IP but LP....!

it tells very accurate even gives no. of service provider ! ! !
here is what i got from my ip(i have a dial netone connection)

why dont u just "put his id on ur spam list" his mails will never again show up in the inbox... ?.. also, i think that it miht be a work of someone who knows her (just a wild guess)

Yes, you guessed right. It is work of her classmate, he knows her better. But I can't do anything without a proof to kick his asss. As far as spamming is concern, I am doing so, whenever I visit a junk site where they ask for ur email id I never forget to enter his id.

Im sure he is receiving hundered of useless, irrelevant, junk newsletter, offer etc in his inbox...........! But I am, of course, not satisfied. I just need a lil proof to make his life miserable.

Help me guys if you can, his IP is 210.210.62.36

Now friends, just gimme his location and I will do the rest.

210.210.62.36 is Sify alright. Thanks tech_your_future and bikram_singhy.

I digged the links you have given. As I was almost sure that the IP belongs to Delhi so as soon as bikram_singhy said it is at Delhi I jumped to conclusion but I checked the link tech_your_future provided and its telling me its Mumbai's Sify.

Now its disgusting for me, two different services are telling two different locations of a same IP, how is it possible..???

If there is so much problem in detecting a city, then how could I trace the particular computer, or even, if I take action against the guy, how could I proof that the IP belongs to his comuter.

Is he safe....????? And can do whatever he wants....????
