System works with direct power supply but not through ups ..

I recently faced a weird problem with my friend's system..

The system doesn't turn on when connected to ups. But turns on when direclty connected to the plug point. The ups seems to work well and no problem with it...

Where the actual problem lies and how to resolve it ?

How did you test the UPS and concluded that it's working normally?

Test the UPS with another computer if possible. Use alternate ports on back of UPS. Try keep the battery charged for 3to4 hour and then try again.

Test your UPS.
Also you may have accidentally switched off the power button at the back of your UPS(if any) or the SMPS.
