Suggestions for PMP

interested in buying a PMP. looked for them and found many variations from INR500 onwards - Techcom (without any memory, to be used with SD card), Sony.....
i liked Sony NWZ-B172F (available in 2 GB @2699 & 4GB @ 3699 variations).
suggestions for them please.

5000max, the lesser the better. thought of Sony because of quality sound capability in sony equipments. last i bought a sony cassette player in 2002. i also have a tv (3 way sound 5 speaker).

am also thinking of getting a budget tablet 7inch, less than 10k, with call facility (not decided which one) soon so video capabilities are not needed in the pmp.

Sansa Clip+ is better than Sony PMPs? also, i have gathered that it has now been superseded by Sansa Clip Zip.

my question is still unanswered - is the audio capabilities of this player better than the Sony one?

I am not considering Video capabilities or the extra memory space.

Sound quality wise both(walkman B and S,have not heard others)are more or less same.
Walkmans have marginally more driving capabilities and better battery.However there is no sd card slot.Sansa(at least the clip plus) has pristine clean output,so hp out can be used with portable amps,the S Walkman I had sounded rubbish when attached to FiiO E11 through its hp out.

Get the Clip Zip...I have one, sound quality is really good...
BTW Fuge+ has problems in Capacitive touch button.

EDIT: Oh yes it has got the stable port on the rockbox...

tyvm buddy. that is really helpful info. i won't be using the same with any speaker but only with the headphones. and tyvm once again for the portable amps info. don't think i ever heard that (the portable thingy, the bigger one i know). that raises a new question - do i need any portable amp if i have either sony or sansa pmp?

I have Clip+. Very solid build. Excellent sound. Its sturdy and you dont have to worry about it line in sansa ZIP you worry about the screen getting scratched. And having a colour screen just to see album art is useless. I donot remember charging my sansa clip tor 3 months. Its running, more than 60% charge. Additionally you have rockbox support for sansa clip and micro SD card support also. You can even run video in the monochrome screen. Ha ha, funny. My next purchase will surely be another Sansa clip. And I am sure the present one will run another 2-3 years. And you have radio also in Sansa Clip.

I found sony walkman sounded much better with the provided headphones. In case of sansa clip you need to buy some good earbuds. But sansa clip last long. My friend's walkman is not running now, showing multiple issues. My sansa clip is running as new. I forget to charge it 2-3 months, but battery's charge is like never ending.

yes, forgot to mention the games. Snake and many more. And the visualizations. And did I mention it can read *.txt files. Likewise, you can copy your ebook to text file and read it. It's so small. Its magical. I love gadgets like this.
