Currently most of the software applications are Multi-threaded and games are becoming multi-threaded too. So in long run a good quad core is recommended. I think you should go with a Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2 GHz processor. In stock speed it performs little less than i 3 2100 but all other multi-threaded applications it is better. It can also be overcloked to increase the performance.

Here is my suggestion:-

AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 5.5K
Gigabyte GMA-880GM-USB3 @ 4.8K (it has Bulldozer support)
Corsair XMS3 1600 MHz 4GB X 1 DDR3 @ 1.5K
Seagate SATA 500 GB 7200.12 @ 1.9K
Zotac GTX 560 Ti 1 GB GDDR5 @ 12.1K (in Lynx-India)
Corsair GS600 @ 4K
NZXT Gamma Case @ 2K
BenQ G2220HD @ 7.2K
LG 22X DVD Writer @ 0.9K
Logitech MK200 Combo @ 0.7K
Altec Lancing VS2621 @ 1.6K

Total 41.2K.

How is the ePRO dragon cabinet vs the NZXT gamma? I saw it in this months copy of Digit....but not any reviews online or even the company website :p .
It looks good...and retails for around same price as Gamma.

I still feel Gamma is better, quality wise :)

^^ I don't have much idea about the ePRO dragon cabinet and can't comment. But I don't think the cabinet is widely available now.

Jas, actually I've suggested the chepaer AMD based config because in gaming @ 1080P, it is the Graphics card that matters much and I guess a Phenom II X4 armed with a better Gfx card will perform better than a i5 2400 with a less powerful Gfx card.
However, your config also looks good to me since it provides best of the Processor and Gfx card within the budget. Just update the motherboard with Intel DH67VR-B3 as it is available @ 4.1K only in deltapage. Similarly OP can go with a Corsair 4 GB 1333 MHz CL9 value ram for 1.2K as H67/H61 doesn't support more than that.

cilus h67vr has only 2 sata3 ports as compared to 4 sata2 of that asus board.
both used for optical drive and hdd, no left for future upgrade.

and sata3 not that useful unless a ssd plugged in AFAIK
