Suggestions for a music phone

1. Budget?
8-15k

2. Display type and size?
Preferably something of the quality of AMOLED. But its not a deciding factor for me. Size >3"

3. Form Factor? bar, slider, flip?
No preference here

4. Preferred choice of brand?
Any well-known brand like Nokia, Samsung, LG etc.

5. Preferred input method (QWERTY, touchscreen, numpad, touch-n-type).
Preferably QWERTY+touchscreen(but again its not a hard and fast rule)

6. What camera option you want? Please specify need for flash, autofocus, front facing camera.
Decent camera, but I don't want to spend a bomb on an over-performing camera. Flash is required.

7. Preferred operating system? (Android, Symbian, iOS, Windows Phone etc).
Android(but again its not a hard and fast rule)

8. Preferred connectivity options (3G, Wifi etc)Please specify clearly.
3G, Wifi

9. Preferred applications (Flash, Swype, GPS, etc)?
Flash, GPS if available

10. Primary use of handset (multimedia, camera, mails, internet, gaming etc)?
Music, mails, internet, casual gaming

11. Any specific mobile phones in consideration?
Nokia C6-01, LG Optimus One, Nokia X6, SE Xperia 10 mini, Nokia N97(is it still available)

12. Any other info that you want to share
I am upgrading from my SE J108i. The phone should provide decent audio quality something equivalent to the Nokia Express Music 5800

1. Nokia C7 (around 16.7k)
2. Motorola Defy (around 15.5k)
3. HTC Desire (around 16.5k, but poor battery life)
4. Samsung Galaxy Ace (around 13k if I am right)
5. Nokia C6-01 (around 13k now if I am right)

N97, xperia x10 mini and x6 are dead phones and not at all usefull now.

Most of the phone in the mentioned price range have been already specified by desiiibond! :p

Have a look on all of them & choose the one that suits your requirements the most!

If you want to save around 5k, go for LG O1 ! You won't regret your decision! + you'll have extra 5k to play with! :)

Thanks for the suggestions. :)
Are these in the order of your recommendation?

nope. just try them and get one that you like most. My no.1 choice would be Desire but only concern is with the battery life. You must get an extra battery to keep it on for 24 hours or charge atleast once in a day.

@ Vignesh - If you can increase your budget to around 17k & you aint too finicky about OS then C7 is the way to go. If I aint mistaken its got a 12MP CZ lens. But if you are strictly within 15k range(you can't go a penny more than that) & again you aint too fussy about OS then C6-01 is the best with 8MP. I don't think any other phones offer you 8MP at 13k. In Android segment my vote goes to DEFY @ 15k. I would have suggested you Desire but for its poor battery life.

Samsung Wave II is also a very good. No matter what phone you choose, don't forget to buy a decent pair of In-ear headphones as almost all phones are bundled with abysmal headphones.

C7 has got the 8MP cam.

Buddy here are the best choices I can sort out for you:

1. Dell XCD 35 @ 9.5k
2. Nokia C6-01 @ 12k (best for music IMO)
3. Motorola Defy @ 14.5k

@ssb1551 - I can extend my budget to 17k if it is worth that.
A bit offtopic - Does more the MP really translate to more image quality?
@Empiral - I would be using Creative Aurvana In-Ear 2 with this handset.
@comp@ddict - Added Dell XCD and Samsung Wave II to my checklist.
Now my list is growing quite big in size. :)

You should remove defy from the music option, coz the sound quality is not at all good according to me.

Oops!!sorry my bad C7 doesn't have 12MP. Its 8MP. No better MP doesn't necessarily mean better quality pictures..but usually all the phones with 8MP or higher do have very good picture quality. So I guess C6-01 is better though its screen size is 3.2" as compared to 3.5" of C7.

Creative Aurvana!!nice...you can use it with any phone.

Consider DELL XCD 35 only if it gets the 2.2 update(if possible then 2.3 too :p). 'cause as of right now it runs on 2.1.

No problem.
Thanks for the info :)

Yeah, its a decent headphone. It may lack the bass of an in-ear but is good enough for me. Good trebles and excellent mid-range.

Ok, but if I do keedas like installing custom OS, will it make much of a difference? But still I would like native support for Froyo.

@dreatica: Will check out in the shop and will update you about the quality. But if doesn't match my expectations it will be out.

This is a test

This! Thanks!

With installing custom ROMs, you'll have a not-so-stable experience but a theme supported OS with loads of tweaks and latest android version
