*For home use, net, basic powerpoint use

*WiFi/3G needed.

Whether to go for Windows based (Acer Iconia) or Android (Motorolla xoom)?

Since we use W-7 based PC's at home, is it easy to use tablet with W7?

well, what do you need a tablet for? get a netbook for half the price

or do you want to show off??
if you want to show off, save some more and get a iPad to make your friends jealous, and then get angry coz you cant do half the things you wanted to do with it, and know that a 45k computer would have done a lot more things faster and more efficiently than any tablet.

I won't suggest you to go for a W7 tablet,go for an Android one.
What screen size is preferable,7" or 10"? So that we can suggest you accordingly.

Ill also suggest the Asus Transformer or the Galaxy Tab 10.1... both are sleek and light... Dont buy a windows tablet!

look at the requirements, a tablet for that? overkill, imho.

anyway, who am i to suggest something i'd never use.

anyhow, try some android tablets, like xoom or galaxy tab or maybe an older iPad, you might get a nice bargain somewhere.
