Suggest soundcard for my new Logitech z-5500 !

hi all ,,
i just bought the logitech z-5500 5.1 speakers ,,& i m not happy with my onboard sound quality (even my ob soundcard is 5.1/7.1 dolby capable).
I want good soundcard with all digital (coaxial,optical) ports to hear hd sound ,,
But I m tight on budget (Spend 16,500/-on these speakers ) . so suggest me good but cheap sound card !!

I have the same speakers, bought them for 20k 2 years back. You won't believe me, but I still don't have a good sound card. But I intend to purchase a good sound card. I've used the Creative Audigy 2 card, its not that great. Post up your purchase here if you do buy one and let me know how the output is, I'll do the same if I buy one myself!

guys, the decoder of Z-5500D should be good enough. See if your onboard/audigy has setting to passthrough audio (through S/PDIF port) and let the z-5500's decoder do the necessary.

@ desibond : I m using Gigabyte MA785GMT-UD2H motherboard , it has onboard realtech Hd dolby souncard with 7.1 support ,+ it has S/pdif port (optical only) n these cables are too costly ,, so please look at my motherboard n tell me its onboard soundcard is good enough ??

nah. that soundcard is not worth using with Z-5500. Frankly speaking, my pick would be ASUS Xonar Essense STX but it costs around 9k. Else check Xonar DX (PCI-E x1 slot) and D1 (PCI slot)

There are two series champion and professional... Both are same it's just one comes with front panel bay..

BTW,, They are awesome for gaming and music.....

I would go with Xonar series. They are much better than Creative's soundblaster series.

This is kinda coslty for me but I will go for it , but have to wait atleast for a month .. Anyways thanx friends ,, & as I am gonna wait for month , u can suggest be more soundcards (I'd be glad if they r cheaper ;-D) ..cya
