Suggest me Best Sub 10K (Smart) phone

I am planning to buy a mobile with a budget of Rs.10000. My requirements are listening to music, Browsing internet and using some useful apps in OS, occasionally camera will be used.

Brand preference is NOKIA, Samsung, any other good smart phone brand. HTC

Models prefered are C5, Nokia 5230, Samsung Monte 3G S5620

Main requirements are

1. 3G - High speed browser (Compulsory) or Wifi
2. Secondary camera
3. 3 inch Display with Touch
4. 3.5 pin
5. Symbian 60 OS
Optional - USB Charging

i can suggest you these 4 models.. chk out these phones in market...
they all have above 9 hr talk time except Nokia C6 it has 7hr.

Nokia 5800

^^ as you mentioned USB charging. so this kicks out all the Nokia touchscreens in 10k range.

& with touch, i'll suggest increase budget slightly & get Samsung Galaxy 3 @ 11-11.5k. will keep you entertained for a day or 2 under normal use (1 day i think under heavy use).

which of these cost 10k? or add 1k more, 11k? even if it comes at 10-11k, no touchscreen. if touchscreen no USB charging facility. these are some shortcomings of Nokia that really sucks.

Edit: ok just saw a link & it (nokia C5-03) indeed support USB charging & the features are really good but is it launched in India? not think so but again it sports the old Symbian S60v5.

c5-03 - 10.6k (cumin dis december i think)

samsung can provide back for 2 days for 1 month only.. as u will be using for browsing and all.. it will hardly give more than 1 day backup...


and each of them support microUSB.. so user can charge his mobile very easily

Just as Sam said - increase your budget and but galaxy 3
but you might find some battery issues if you will be using android for the first time...

I'd suggest- Nokia C6 is fine cell phone. But your budget is very less. In these specs I think you can't fine a good mobile phone. I have used Nokia 5233, It is a good cell phone. But It doesn't have WiFi. Nevertheless it lies in your budget. I am using Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. You can get a good cell phone by increasing your budget. Moreover, Nokia cell phones are very reliable and have re-sale value.

Android offers better functionality but eats battery.
Symbian (mainly talking about S60 or earlier) offers good battery but is way too OLD.

Thanks all for the update. this tells me that i should either go in for a higher battery capacity with Android or to stick with Symbian. My usage will be Gmail, Facebook, youtube and some other customised mail applications. USB charging is an optional feature if it is not in touch screen no issues on it.

How about going in for a DELL on contract with T mobiles and then unlocking and using it here. Dell Venue Pro hits it off in the US, sells for 100 bucks on contract - GSMArena.com news

Hope Samsung I5800 Galaxy and Nokia c5-03 are on par... How about the C5-03 launching in india was looking forward for it.

How would you get the DELL Venue Pro within 10K? It's under Contract, when it arrives here in India the price will be around 25K, Unlocked and SIM-Free. I don't think you can buy a T - Mobile contracted phone and use it here.

I just told of an option where i saw few ppl using the US operator's phone in india (not on contract). I dont know how practically its feasible......

Ok any others can you provide your input on a good (NOT SMART) multimedia phone. Now I came to a conclusion that at 10K you cannot get a smart phone only a multimedia phone....

^ No use of spamming your same post in every thread! People who visit Mobile Monster section of Digit are likely to see your thread and post their accordingly. Besides, this is SUB-10k phone suggestion thread where O1 would anyways be considered as high priced (it being close to 13k).
