By the way, you can buy a PCI card with SATA/SATA2 connectors for Rs.500 if you plan to buy a SATA hard disk.
I am yet to buy a hard disk too. A friend of mine suggested that SATAs have a high failure rate (he has a SATA2 mobo and buys PATA hard disks !!! His faith has shaken my beliefs !!!)
since data is more precious than performance (atleast for me), I cannot recommend any particular hard disk yet.
