890GXE is too much for home PC used for browsing,movies and casual gaming.
So as 4GB ram.

@Sam
He doesnt need a DVD RW.Also its better to go for X4.I personally prefer creative.My 5 year old Inpire 4400 4.1 rocked and still rocking.My current Inspire T6100 rocks big time.My friend has A 300 and its worth for the money.

I have that board.Its name itself is HD.It can support 1920 X 1080.Even blu ray movies can be played.For gaming he need to play at lower resolutions.
Otherwise an HD 5670 512MB @ 5.3k.

I dont know why people want to play games in native resolution only.Only aspect ratio is important for me.I can game in any lower resolution.I was playing SHIFT in 853 X 480 when I had 9500GT :mrgreen:

yes, it can. problem only starts when trying games. running games at 1024X768 on a 20" looks ugly. 22", it'll worth more invest in a HD4670. yes he'll loose DX11. but will a bit of extra muscle.

for same performance: Core2Quad or Core2Extreme. X48 (DDR3 based). and a graphics card cause game + Intel graphics = a killer spoiler.

for same price: forget it.
