Student's phone in less than 9K

well i'm looking for a phone(my mom says strictly for comm. but i say otherwise)
i'm looking for android phone so which should i choose samsung galaxy Y or HTC explorer
any idea if i can cram a htc explorer in 6-7k??
i dont want homegrown brands like karbonn ,micromaxx etc

HS18 super deals was selling Explorer for ~7k but has expired. Wait for a month as they cycle the deals so within a couple of week either Y or something similar will come up at 7k again. Don't consider any Galaxy at this budget as they lack power and also screen is bad + small. You can consider LG Optimus L3 but is having same QVGA display like all galaxy and same amount of ram but has same processor as Explorer but costing 1k less. Or you can check LG Optimus Net but this one have ancient processor and hence even custom rom of Android 4.1 will not be 100% functional.

Explorer is the best option for you.
My friend has recently bought it from ebay for only 7.2k with the help of a coupon.
