StandBy Problem in Ubuntu 8.1

I m currently using Ubuntu 8.10 on

Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2160 @ 1.80GHz, 1203 MHz
Hitachi HDP72502 250GB SATA HDD
1 GB RAM
running on Biostar MOtherBoard-GF7050V-M7 SE

the moment i go to standby mode --Ubuntu normally goes to standby with by power LED Blinking

But when i press any key or Power button.....i cannot come back to Ubuntu Desktop Back...i jus goes on Sleeping :)

donno whether ubuntu driver prob or incompatability

Any help pls??

may be hardware compatibility.
Try turning on AHCI mode for drives in BIOS.

Better ask this question in Ubuntu Forum.

Are you passing any option like apci=off to kernel? Check the kernel line in /boot/grub/menu.lst file.

Pls try to update wireless lan driver.

> wget *wireless.kernel.org/download/compat-wireless-2.6/compat-wireless-2009-02-11.tar.bz2
> tar jxvf compat-wireless-2009-02-11.tar.bz2
> cd compat-wireless-2009-02-11.tar.bz2
> sudo make install
> sudo make load

restart ubuntu.
