As per my knowledge, ne cant download anything from internet to mobile without GPRS/EDGE. you can use a datacable for the uploading ringtones from computer to mobile.

In case of polyphonic & real tones, u can't send them as SMS using net.
But there r many sites, which allow u to send monophonic ringtones (like RTTL) thru net free. (I can't remember the names).
So the BEST way to upload ringtones without GPRS is using DATA cable.

Wire muncher!
if you find any free web2sms tools then copy and paste the rttl contents and send to the cellphone. i am not sure how many continue to support this feature for free.

Are yaar!
If u SMS to 7827 for Polyphonic ringtones, they send them and ur cellphone must be GPRS enabled as well as activated to d/l them.
U can't d/l them without GPRS...

U can also send SMS to 7827 (or any other content provider) for monophonic ringtones too. expertno.1 is asking for that. I heard that its possible, but really dont know how.

as i told in my previous posts, that there r many sites that allow to send messages and monophoinc ringtones to ur mobile from net.
The same method all these content providers (like 7827, 7333, etc) use.
But i can't remember the site names.
